Josh works the night shift at the Quick-Mart.  A time for the crazies to come out, and that is before the hell vortex opened up outside!  Fortunately, none of the creatures seem too dangerous – the zombies are only after the frozen burritos and the lizard guys always let him keep the change.  And best of all, he gets to ogle Colin (aka Hot Guy), when he makes an occasional visit to the store.  Josh has had the hots for Colin since he first saw him, and now it seems like the feeling might be mutual.  Looks like there might be pretty monsters after all.

This was a really fun little story with a great set up for the series.  I loved Josh’s voice and the humor in the way he analyzes the customers.  There are the noisy lizard guys, the stoner Pot Guy, and the frozen food craving zombies.  I laughed how after only two weeks Josh is totally matter-of-fact about the various monsters wandering around his store.  And of course, there is Hot Guy, who it turns out is hot for him as well!

This story was cute, clever, and fun with great sexual tension between Josh and Colin.  It kept me thinking about it long after I finished reading and eager to know what will happen next.  I can’t wait for the next installment.  Great short story, definitely recommend.

P.S. This is a VERY short story, fwiw.  Looks like about 7 PDF pages.
