Tate teaser

Excerpt

“Hey, Tate,” Cole said from the other end of the phone. “You’re up early for a Saturday. I thought only people with kids didn’t sleep in on the weekend.”

Tate laughed as he heard the sound of small voices in the background. “Hey yourself. And you would be right any other weekend.”

“Oh, that’s right. It’s the big day over there today, isn’t it?”

“Big weekend in general,” Tate said, and took a sip of his juice. “I don’t think we have a minute to spare over the next two days.”

“That’s what Logan was telling me. You guys are going to be exhausted come Monday.”

Tate thought of the next forty-eight hours and didn’t disagree. “Don’t be surprised if he calls in.”

“Yeah, right,” Cole said. “Josh is taking us on a walk-through of where our new offices are going to be. Do you really think Logan is going to sit out on that while Priest and I get first dibs on the choices available?”

Hell no, he didn’t. There wasn’t a chance Logan would miss that. He would likely be there roping off his section before anyone else even arrived. “Yeah, you might have a point.”

“Trust me, he’s been eyeing the specs ever since we started discussing the idea. He’ll be there. Even if it’s only to say ‘that’s mine’ and then leave.”

Tate chuckled over how accurate that statement was. If there was one thing Logan never had trouble expressing, it was what he considered his. Something Tate was intimately familiar with. He took another bite of his bar and then shoved that thought aside, determined not to get sidetracked. “How’s the Madison clan this morning?”

“The Madison clan is—” There was a loud clang and then the phone was muffled as Cole said, “Thomas, how many times have I told you not to ride that scooter in here?” There was a high-pitched “sorry,” and then Cole was back. “The Madison clan is trying to make their father old before his time. Sorry about that.”

“No problem,” Tate said, and smoothed a hand along his leg to rest it on his knee. “But speaking of getting older… While Logan’s not around, I wanted to ask you about his birthday.”

Cole laughed so loudly at that Tate couldn’t help but join in. “You’re a brave man saying that in the same vicinity as him.”

“He’s in the shower. My life is safe.”

“For now,” Cole said. “But have you forgotten who we’re talking about? Logan doesn’t do birthdays. Well, his own, that is.”

Tate hadn’t forgotten at all. He’d been battling about birthday celebrations with Logan for as long as they’d been together. Logan claimed he didn’t want to celebrate a day that merely signified he was getting one day closer to grey hair and a retirement home. Tate, however, knew there were other, more personal, reasons behind Logan’s adamant refusal to celebrate the day he was born. And after the first year, when he’d put up such a fight about it, Tate had let him off the hook.

Well, not this year. He wanted to do something special for Logan, and he was determined.

“Too bad,” Tate said. “He’s getting one this year whether he wants it or not.”

“Uhh…I don’t know if you’re brave or stupid,” Cole said around a laugh.

“Probably a bit of both…”

Blurb

TateWilliam Tate Morrison – The man who came into my life and turned my entire world—and me—on its ass.

Logan Mitchell has always been a man with a plan.

One for work. One for his relationship. And one for his life. Which is exactly the way he liked it—until recently.

Now with words like marriage and weddings floating around his head, Logan’s plans have suddenly changed course, and where they want him to go has him feeling somewhat distracted.

Tate Morrison knows Logan better than anybody else—or so he thinks. So when his lawyer is finding it hard to sleep at night, he chalks it up to the craziness that has recently descended on their lives.

Never in a million years would he guess what’s really on Logan’s mind.

Tate is the fifth book in the Temptation Series, and the next chapter in the lives of the two men we have all come to know and love.
