Hi. I’m Jason, one of NineStar’s senior editors, and I’m proud to be a part of bringing the Teacher’s Pet anthology to fruition. The idea came while helping a friend of mine by beta reading a story she’d written. The story’s characters were a professor and one of her former students. I loved the story and the dynamic between the two characters. I do have a thing for power dynamics after all.  And I enjoy seeing them exist even outside of a classic BDSM environment and in differing degrees. That got me thinking about all the possibilities. Other than the power dynamic, there could be the possible age difference, genres, and so many factors according to an author’s muse. I did some research and found teacher/student is a fairly popular trope that most people imagine only as a strict teacher who keeps their student after class, maybe for a spanking with a ruler, but I’d already imagined the possibilities far beyond that porny scene or that strict idea of what a teacher is and how they act. I spoke to Raevyn about collecting shorts for an anthology focusing on teacher/student relationships. Opening this call to LGBTQI+ added even more options. When the call went out, the response was heartening. So many wonderful and diverse stories! So many talented authors! No two were alike. It has been amazingly fun to work through each unique story and I can’t wait for readers to get a chance to check this anthology out.
