I am very excited to be participating in the Hop Against Homophobia.  This is a special blog hop that includes the important mission of raising awareness of the problem of homophobia.  The hop runs from May 17-20, and at each blog there will be a post on the topic of homophobia, as well as a chance to win a great m/m romance prize.

Here at Joyfully Jay, I am super excited to be offering commenters a choice of one  of author Katey Hawthorne’s fabulous superpowered love romances (and a huge thanks to Katey for generously donating the prize). Check out the end of the post for more details on the books and information about how to enter.
So there are over 200 blogs participating in this hop, and I thought a lot about what I would like to say.  I am sure there will be many people who can speak far more eloquently than me about this issue, so I decided to take a slightly different angle, and share something I thought I could offer as a reviewer.  So this post has a list of some of my favorite books about coming out.  For so many people, fear of coming out is fueled by the worry about homophobia — the fear of rejection by friends and family, the worry about how people will react when they find out. So I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite books where the characters have faced that challenge and managed to find love and happiness at the end, even if they didn’t always get total acceptance.
So here are some of our Joyfully Jay favorite coming out books:
Giveaway:
I am very excited to offer commenters a choice of one of three fabulous romances by Katey Hawthorne.  I have read and love all three of these books and highly recommend them.  And again a super big thanks to Katey for donating the books (and for an additional chance to win one of her books, check out her blog hop post as well!)

To enter the contest, please leave a comment in the post. I’d especially love to hear about any of your favorite coming out books, and I’ll post a full list at the end of the hop!

Be sure to include your email address if it is not in your profile.  I can not count any entries without contact information.  I will also offer an extra entry for anyone who follows me on Twitter or who is a follower of the blog through Google Friend connect (so up to three total entries are possible).  Please indicate in your post if you are follower in either place (and the name you use if it is different than the one in your post). You must be 18 or older to enter.

I will pick a winner after the hop ends and announce it here on the blog as well as contact the winner by email.

Thanks again for stopping by today! And be sure to check out the other great blog stops at http://hopagainsthomophobia.blogspot.com Jay
