So we have finally made it to Sunday. As I am sure you can tell, it was an amazing week at GRL and it was so sad to say goodbye on Sunday. The morning started off with another breakfast and a chance to visit with lots of folks who I had met throughout the week. It was amazing to look back at how much had happened and how many great friends I had made from just a few short days before. Sadly we didn’t have a lot of time to linger, as most of us still had lots of packing to do. But since our flight wasn’t until later in the day, we joined the GRL tent city in the lobby for a couple of hours which was a fun way to relax and hang out before it was time to go.

As I said in my first post, GRL exceeded all my wildest expectations. Everyone was so incredibly friendly, so warm and welcoming, and it really felt like coming home. I doubt there are too many other events where you can totally be yourself and know you are among family.

Huge thanks go to all the organizers of the event – Carol, Teresa, Heidi, Damon, J.P, and Ethan.  And a big thank you to everyone who was so friendly and made me feel welcome at my first GRL. I met so many great friends, it has been hard to adjust to not seeing you every day.  Luckily there is lots of chatter of FB and Twitter to lessen the withdrawal.  Special shoutouts to Cole, Laura Adriana, Tina, Alex, Zach, Stephanie, K-Lee, J.P., and of course to the girls who adopted me – Gyn, Leigh, and Heather.  And big hugs to everyone else who helped make the week so special.  I love you guys and can’t wait to see you all next year in Atlanta!

And to send you off, here are a last few pictures of our final day.  Hugs and kisses to everyone, and please keep in touch! I miss you all! Jay
