Hi guys! Today I am excited to welcome L.A. Witt back to the blog.  L.A. is one of my favorite and most frequent guests, so I am really happy she is back today to talk about her new book, Something New Under the Sun.  I totally loved this one (along with the first book A Chip in his Shoulder) and have the review coming up a bit later today.

L.A. has brought a great giveaway with her today, so be sure to check out the details at the end of the post.  And even better, she is sharing an exclusive excerpt from the book!  So please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Welcome to the Riptide Publishing/L. A. Witt blog tour for Something New Under the Sun, the sequel to my vampire/cyberpunk novella, A Chip In His Shoulder!

Entries close at midnight, Eastern time, on January 27th, and winners will be announced on January 28th.  Contest is NOT restricted to U.S. entries.

Today, an exclusive excerpt from Something New Under the Sun!

Liam’s hands materialized on my shoulders. “You ready for this?”

Nerves tangled in the pit of my stomach. I’d thought I was, but with reality closing in fast, and weapons strewn all over this bedroom as cold metal reminders of that reality, the doubts set in.

“Daniel?”

I turned around, and when I met his eyes, I forced a reassuring smile onto my lips. “Yeah, I’m ready.”

“You sure?” He trailed his fingers down the side of my face. “Because once this starts, there’s no turning back. We hit the ground running, and we keep running, or we’re both dead.”

I nodded.

“Which also means, from the second we walk out that door”—he tilted his head toward the triple dead-bolted door—“you have to trust me.”

“I know,” I said, wrapping my arms around him. “And I do trust you.”

He curved his hand around the back of my neck and kissed me. Maybe he meant to do it, or maybe he only intended for something brief, but whatever the case, the kiss lingered.

When he pulled back, our eyes met. He should have let me go right then. We should have gone back to putting our gear together before we had to leave in a few hours.

But his fingers combed through my hair, and I shivered. And he leaned in to kiss me again. And that kiss deepened.

I pulled him to me, closing my fingers around fistfuls of his shirt as he parted my lips with the tip of his tongue. Oh my God, no man kissed like Liam. Deep, breathless, giving as much as demanding, and my knees and spine liquefied as my cock hardened. I touched his face, running my fingertips across the mod on his temple, and goose bumps came to life along my forearm as if the device had sent a low current of electricity beneath my skin. When I pressed against him, he groaned into my kiss. This was so not the time, so not the place, but I couldn’t help myself. With my erection against his, I didn’t give a fuck about anything except getting clothes off. Getting him off. Fucking hell, I needed him.

I stumbled back a step, my foot grazing something metallic which scraped across the hard floor and reminded me of the existence of the ammo box. And why it was out. What we’d been planning. What we were supposed to be doing.

I broke the kiss and panted against his lips. “Do we have time for this?”

“Probably not.” His dipped his head and kissed the side of my throat. “Lesson one for living in the Gutter.” He nipped just above my collar, right where he’d bitten me the other night, and I shivered. “An opportunity for something like this presents itself ? You fucking take it, because you never know if or when it’ll happen again.”

“Not gonna argue with that.”

“Didn’t think you would. And after five years”—he paused to kiss me—“I’m not about to waste an opportunity to be with you.”

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer currently living in the glamorous and ultra-futuristic metropolis of Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, two cats, and a disembodied penguin brain that communicates with her telepathically. In addition to writing smut and disturbing the locals, L.A. is said to be working with the US government to perfect a genetic modification that will allow humans to survive indefinitely on Corn Pops and beef jerky. This is all a cover, though, as her primary leisure activity is hunting down her arch nemesis, erotica author Lauren Gallagher, who is also said to be lurking somewhere in Omaha.

L. A.’s backlist is available on her website, and updates (as well as random thoughts and the odd snarky comment) can be found on her blog or on Twitter (@GallagherWitt).
