Other than a sort-of ghost hunt for his somewhat overbearing cousin, Lee is looking forward to his vacation. Sun, sand, and a different man every night, what more could a vampire ask for? But Lee is ensnared right off by the beautiful man checking in at the hotel. Jayden is exactly what Lee was looking for, especially for the first night of fun. But he turns out to be more than Lee expected. Jayden is a hedge witch. The only thing Lee knows about hedge witches is that his mother warned him to stay away from them. And when Lee offends the beautiful witch, he may not have another chance with Jayden. But when he can’t seem to get Jayden out of his head, Lee sets out to earn Jayden’s forgiveness.

Beach Remedy is a part of the Paranormal Days series of shorts (so far) that is a joint effort by Sasha L. Miller and Megan Derr. It is an absolutely adorable book, full of smiles and sunshine. This is my definition of a beach read: fun, easy, short and sweet. It’s one of those feel good, light-hearted books that leave you with a smile on your face. And, best of all, it’s a light-hearted book with vampires.

I think I like it so much because it’s a happy-go-lucky story in every sense of the word. The relationship between Lee and Jayden is sweet. This story is not about two guys who rush into a heavy, love filled relationship. It’s the beginning of something new, the start of something that shows promise. But there is no declaration of forever, which I absolutely adore about Beach Remedy.

The characters are young and adorable. I love Jayden and Lee. I enjoy the fact that they are from two different races of beings, each with their own stereotypical fables about the other, yet they find one another and move past those taboos. Individually they are fun characters. They are so different, yet so perfect for one another. Lee and Jayden are a definite highlight of this story.

All in all, Beach Remedy is a definite must read, especially if you’re heading on vacation, or just to relax and get away from the real world for a couple hours. The characters are great, the world is fun and refreshing, and story is adorable. I definitely recommend Beach Remedy by Sasha L. Miller.
