Hi guys! I am so excited to welcome back Taylor V. Donovan to the blog. Taylor is here to talk about her newest release, Six Degrees of Separation. She has also brought goodies to giveaway! Welcome Taylor!
Are We Really Strangers?
Six Degrees of Separation is the unproven theory that anyone can be connected to any other person through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries. It is also the foundation of “By Degrees,” my serial featuring an ensemble cast and multiple points of view.
Personally, I’ve met someone who knows somebody else I’ve previously also met at least four times in my life, so the idea that some of our characters in “By Degrees” can say the same is not as farfetched as it’d seem. Plus, it is romantic suspense, so why not add a serial killer to the mix? See how everybody feels knowing they’ve been rubbing shoulders with a monster? I’ve got to say, getting to know the players has been an amazing journey. Following the chain and discovering how their lives are intertwined, and having the opportunity to make them all three-dimensional is an absolute thrill.
But I’m not here to tell you about my books. You can visit my blog if you want to find out about that. Today we’re just going to do a giveaway.
Although the Six Degrees of Separation theory has yet to be proven, it has become widely accepted, and I know I’m not the only one with their our own stories that support it. So what’s yours? Ever experienced this situation? Is the guy you’re dating the nephew of your third grade teacher’s brother in law? Is there something weird you’d like to tell us?
Your comments will enter you for an opportunity to win the four installments in the series to date, or a copy of Six Degrees of Separation if you’ve already read the rest, so come on. Share with us!
Blurb
In the sequel to Six Degrees of Lust, F.B.I. team leader Samuel Shaughnessy and bar manager Machlan O’Bannon are exploring a new phase in their non-relationship. The intention is to take it slowly but power plays are still their favorite activity, and it isn’t long before lines begin blurring. After ending their friends with benefits agreement no rules are left in place to guide them, and soon enough the only thing that’s clear is that neither man is fighting hard enough to reestablish the boundaries.
Their particular situations haven’t improved in the three months since their first encounter. Sam is still focused on his immediate family issues, and everything indicates Mac will have to go to war with his own family before he can reclaim his freedom. The last thing they need is additional complications.
But when the opening of a night club brings Mac to New York City and a break in the Leviticus investigation leads Sam to Houston, they discover how closely their worlds have been connected from the very beginning. Hiding from the life-altering collision is not an option. Will they take the easier road and go their separate ways, or will they come to terms with their past and take a chance on each other?
* By Degrees is an ensemble serial with continuing story lines. Six Degrees of Separation is the second installment, and it must be read after Six Degrees of Lust.

I am new to this series but I have read so many wonderful things about it I can’t wait to read it! I actually shared this on another site but I almost dated my 3rd or 4th cousin in high school. Luckily we started talking about people we knew before we started dating and discovered the connection!
We moved here 10 years ago and I met a nail tech who has become my BFF. My daughter started the 2nd grade 2 years later and befriended a girl in her class. As it turns out, BFF’s husband and little girl’s dad were college roommates 20 years ago at a college over 200 miles away.
Not read the Degrees series, so would love a chance to read Taylor’s work
While on vacation in Europe a few years ago, I met a woman and her daughter who it turned out knew my aunt and cousins through a girl scout troop in which my aunt was really involved over a decade earlier. Thanks for the chance to win!
Count me in please, thank you!!!
Please count me in. Thanks!
Thanks for the giveaway. I’d love to read your work. Please count me in.
I trained a young man at work who turned out to be the childhood best friend of my niece’s boyfriend at the time. Funny thing was I was trying, only half jokingly, to fix her up with him! 🙂
Please count me in for the giveaway! Thanks!
Don’t think I’ve read any of these stories yet, but would kind of love to. The closest thing I have to that kind of connection with anyone is that my grandfather’s cousin Yvonne used to sing with Hank Williams Sr — in fact, she’s the “Yvonne” mentioned in the song Jambalaya — & I got to meet her once at a family reunion in Louisiana when I was in high school.
New series to me but I would love to give them a go. I’ve made several connections which in the end has turned out that that person is somehow related to me. I kind of feel weird that this has happened to me a few times…well that and scared that one day someone I like may some how be related to me.
Count me in too.
Please count me in!
omg! I’ve had my eye on this series for such a long time… but never really had the chance to get it…
Eeek! Thanks so much for this opportunity to win.
Please, please count me in!
I find the Six degrees thing to be true, especially living in the area where I grew up and having many friends who are also Jewish (we refer to Jewish Geography as the fact that you can meet just about any other Jewish person and instantly know people in common).
Out of our group of about 12 close couple friends, we have so many connections it is crazy. Three of us went to middle school together, half of us went to college together. Three of us met in our first college class. When I met one friend at college and he told me about his girlfriend, I found that she and I had been good friends at camp for 8 years. One woman ended up rooming in college with another’s best friend. About 5-6 of the group knew each other in high school through youth group and were friends and/or dated each other.
Every time we get together and others ask how we all know each other, trying to explain it all gets embarrassingly incestuous!
I’m afraid I don’t really have any six degrees stories, but this might be because I’m almost painfully shy. It’s so funny to hear how people discover these connections though!
I know I am always saying it is a small world when you find a connection between people. But for the life of me I can’t think of an example. It mostly occurs through my work environment.
I’m trying to remember some incidents, but I can’t seem to recall them at the moment. Sometimes it truly is a small world. Please include me in the contest. Thanks!
I don’t have any six degrees stories. Count me in please 🙂
The long awaited sequel! *squee* So happy to hear there are more parts on the way 🙂 Please count me in!
I’ve never heard of the series as well, but they definitely sound as though they would be very Interesting reads. Thanks for the chance to win! =)
Count me in please. I am going to think about my six degrees.
Having read Six Degrees of Lust and loving it, I can’t get my hands on the new book.
In my life, I have no recollection of experiences with the Degrees aforementioned. It does sound interesting, if a bit spooky, to find yourself in a situation like that. It must also be fun but hopefully one has never gossiped about the other person to then find out they know each other and are good friends. Yikes! That would be No Good!
Congrats on your New Release!
This is an amazing series, and a fascinating theory. I often think it’s linked to that strange feeling we get when we meet someone that we already know them. The feeling there are only so many people in the world – probably only in the hundreds rather than the billions it truly is.
Please add me to this draw.
I’ve only vaguely heard of this concept. I find it utterly fascinating, thanks for sharing!
