Hello everyone! Today I am incredibly excited to welcome the fabulous Josh Lanyon to the blog. Woo hoo! Josh Lanyon!
Josh is here to talk to us more about his new release, Kick Start, the latest in the Dangerous Ground series. He has also brought a great giveaway to share with a ton of prizes! So please join me in giving Josh a big welcome!
One of the best parts of writing a series is you have time to explore the characters in a leisurely fashion. As the series progresses you learn more and more about them — as does the reader. Some of those discoveries are serious psychological insights that affect the course of the stories and the characters’ relationships. But some of them are just fun and goofy realizations. Sometimes these bits of insight make it into the books, sometimes they don’t. But for better or worse…
Five Things You Never Knew about Will Brandt and Taylor MacAllister:
1 – Taylor loves samurai movies
2 – One of Taylor’s most prized possessions is a baseball signed by Mickey Mantle
3 – Taylor outgrew childhood asthma
4 – Taylor doesn’t want to admit he isn’t exactly sure how many men he’s had sex with
5 – Taylor used to surf in high school
1 – Will was in college before he lost his virginity. To a woman.
2 – Will turned down being a sniper in the Marine Corps
3 – Will’s favorite dessert is cherry pie
4 – Will’s favorite author is Tom Clancy
5 – Will had perfect attendance all through school (he also won an award for penmanship in elementary school, but he doesn’t talk about it.)
Blurb
Will is finally braced to bring Taylor home to meet the folks. Unfortunately, not every member of the Brandt clan loves Taylor the way Will does. Then again, not everyone loves the Brandts. In fact, someone has a score to settle — and too bad for any former DS agents who get in the way when the bullets start to fly.
About the Author
A distinct voice in gay fiction, multi-award-winning author Josh Lanyon has been writing gay mystery and romance for over a decade. In addition to numerous short stories, novellas, and novels, Josh is the author of the critically acclaimed Adrien English series, including The Hell You Say, winner of the 2006 USABookNews awards for GLBT Fiction and a Lambda Literary Award finalist for Gay Mystery. Josh is also the author of the definitive M/M writing guide Man, Oh Man: Writing M/M Fiction for Kinks and Ca$h.

Lanyon’s particular brand of erotic romance features sexy cops and smartass writers, tough Navy SEALs and sensitive artists, hard as nail special agents and…other hard as nails special agents.
Josh is an EPPIE Award winner and a three-time Lambda Literary Award finalist. He lives in Los Angeles, California with his Significant Other. You can find out more about Josh at the Just Joshin blog on Livejournal/Blogspot or through Josh’s mailing list.

Okay not sure if this is where I was supposed to leave the comment for the Rafflecopter entry but there was a spot to enter the comment on the rafflecopter. No I am not new to Josh. I really enjoyed his Adrien English series, but I am new to the Dangerous Ground series though.
Will seems such a boyscout!
Yes, indeed! The only reason he wasn’t a Boy Scout is he lived too deep in the woods to attend meetings. ;-D
I hope this series will win you over, Karl. 🙂
I love Will and Taylor, but It’s a wonder these two guys ever got together! 🙂
This has been a great and informative blog tour. What can you say about ‘opposites’ attract <3
I love the little extra snippets of information. I loved this latest book, my only gripe is that I finished it too quickly. Can’t wait for more of these guys.
I loved the facts, makes me want to read the books even more! Thank you for the tour.
Thanks so much for hosting the faboo Kick Start blog tour, Jay! And on a Saturday no less. It’s much appreciated.
Pleasure to have you Josh!
Loved all of your other books, Josh, I am now getting started on the Dangerous Ground series. Great work!!
I don’t think a dating website would put them together, based on these 10 facts!
Not surprised Will had perfect attendance! He’s just that kind of guy.
What a contrast in characters. I love learning these little fact about the boys. Thanks for sharing Josh, and for the chance to win.
For some reason, I get a kick out of the penmanship revelation…
Love this list of things I never knew!!! I am totally missing out by waiting to read this story. Might have to read it before I wanted to:)
I love Will more for his great penmanship. I do too. 🙂
Have great penmanship that is. I always heard “You write like a girl” a lot.
Just finished listening to Dangerous Ground 2 and now need to read/listen to the rest of them!
A simply amazing series. One of my all time faves.
While I’m not new to Josh Lanyon, I am new to this series. This looks like a really good series, though.
Oh, fun little facts. Thanks for sharing them =)
The prized baseball is a surprise to me. I am 80% through Kick Start, and I’m loving it! Have to get back now, we fishing this morning 🙂
I do so love Will and Taylor, warts and all. It’s hard these days to find a guy with good penmanship. And Taylor doesn’t need to remember how many guys he’s been with. He only needs to remember the one he’s with now. 🙂
Nicely said, M!
Love these revelations. Chuckled about the penmanship one as I just re-listened to Old Poison where Taylor recognized Will’s neat careful cursive on his birthday card envelope and got an indescribable feeling ? 🙂 Those of you new to the series – enjoy!!
I am really looking forward to this book. I loved the others in this series.
Great series! Love learning more about these guys. Sounds like an awesome new story.
I love this serires. Any snippet of information about Will and Taylor is welcomed!
Thank you, Mr. Lanyon
I loved Josh Lanyon’s Adrian English series. I don’t know why I haven’t read any of the Dangerous Ground series for some odd chance. I will have to make sure I catch up on it—sounds great!
I agree with HJ. Seeing these facts nobody would guess they make a good team, not to speak of being lovers. 🙂
Will and Taylor are such a typical couple in so many ways. The way they are written (in fact, the way all of Josh’s characters are written) truly transcend the traditional couple role. What couple – married or not, same sex or not, can’t relate to the relationship struggles Will and Taylor have experienced? Josh’s books and characters were some of my constant companions when I finally gathered the courage to come out. Over time those books introduced to me to so many wonderful people who’ve become some of the best friends I’ve ever known or could imagine. In turn, those friends have introduced me to so many other incredible friends and authors and books.
Steve, thank you. That is all.
I Love this series – can’t wait to read Kick Start – Christmas at Will’s looks to be fun 🙂
Heheh, there’s a few of these that I’d like to see worked into the stories somewhere. 😀
Believe it or not, I don’t think I’ve read anything by Josh yet. This story might be a good place to start 🙂
So HAPPY to see book 5 is out 🙂 Thank you so much Josh, for all your wonderful works! You’re an auto-buy author for me! Really looking forward to more from Taylor and Will! And to next year’s Kit and JX 😉
Thanks for the extra insights. I’ll have to admit to not being too surprised by them – especially Will’s elementary school feats! *g* Love these guys!
There is absolutely nothing negative I can say abour Josh’s writing. I read book one, Dangerous Ground, and was competely hooked on these guys. I now have all 5 in the series and can’t wait to hear if there’s going to be a #6.
So, do Will and Taylor actually know those little past facts (or secrets?) of each others, I wonder? 😀
Cherry pie, yes! Very endearing, these little facts 🙂
Love the “Five Things”. Thanks!
Hope am not too late. I can’t believe l just saw this.
Will seems so straight and arrow, he’s almost exotic from Taylor’s perspective!!!
Ha! True. Very true.
Sincere thank you to everyone who commented and took part in the Rafflecopter!
Thank you also to Joyfully Jay! 🙂
