Thomas Elkin and Cooper Jones have moved past their age difference and past the need for acceptance from their loved ones. Now they live their lives for themselves and for each other. When Tom is confronted by a partner in his firm for taking male lover, he begins to evaluate his future and what’s truly important to him.

Cooper’s talents earn him his first contract and he finds himself working with a sleazy real estate developer who is unable to keep his hands to himself. He’s a man closer to Cooper’s age who makes it known that he thinks Cooper needs a younger man. But Tom and Cooper are confident enough in their relationship that the man is not a threat to them, although he remains an annoyance as Cooper has to work with him day in and day out.

When Cooper’s family comes to visit, Tom finds himself contemplating his future with Cooper and gains advice and support from the most unexpected of places. Settling into their lives together, Tom and Cooper are able to take whatever is thrown their way as long as they have one another.

Sense of Place is the final installment in N.R. Walker’s Thomas Elkin series. And what a sweet finale it is. I love this series and I love Thomas Elkin and Cooper Jones. I’ve said it before, and it remains true, this author shows talent beyond talent. I love the stories she tells throughout this series. The fear of acceptance being one consistency throughout. Yet in this story it is certainly less so.

I love the presence of Tom and Cooper in this book. I’ve loved them from the beginning. But they have grown into a beautiful couple impervious to the outside world and bigotry that haunts them. They are a couple I am in awe of. The strength they have is one that was cultivated from their trials. The trust they share has grown through their many mistakes and faults. They are strong and passionate. And most of all their love is powerful.

This story is one of finality, one of promises of future. Through her words, Walker tells a story of strength, honesty, trust, and home. It’s a beautiful ending to a fantastic story. This novella holds no angst. It’s precious from start to finish. It’s sweet, sexy, and honest. I love this author’s ability to captivate me from the first word to the last. And the ending – so sweet, so perfect – I couldn’t have asked for more from this story.

I am forever a fan of N.R. Walker. I love her words her enthralling storytelling. I love her characters and their trials. If you haven’t started this series, do so. If you have been reading along, you don’t want to miss out on this sweet story. I highly, highly recommend Sense of Place by N.R. Walker.
