Hello everyone! Today I am pleased to welcome author Saloni Quinby to the blog.  Saloni is here to talk to us about her Weapons of Redemption series.  She also has brought a great giveaway to share.  So please join me in giving Saloni a big welcome!

Chapter Titles: Like Them or Not?

Although I don’t always use chapter titles in my books, I enjoy reading books that have them. As a reader I look forward to seeing how the title fits the chapter and I enjoy having a sneak preview about what each chapter will contain.

Coming up with chapter titles sometimes complicates the writing process, but it’s worth the extra time it takes to think of appropriate titles. In some ways it’s easier than coming up with the book title, since book titles are sometimes changed to conform with publisher preferences. Chapter titles are usually a reflection of what the author truly feels best expresses the work.

For me I always know ahead of time that I’m going to name the chapters in a particular story or series. I begin writing it with that plan in mind. When I started the Weapons of Redemption series, I knew I wanted to name the chapters. Selecting the titles was a great pleasure for me and I truly looked forward to completing each chapter so I could work on the title.

If you’d like a preview of the chapter titles from my Weapons of Redemption series, they’re listed at http://kate-hill.com.

How do you feel about chapter titles? Do you like them or dislike them?
