Hello everyone! Today I am so pleased to welcome back the lovely K-lee Klein to the blog. K-lee is here to talk to us more about her new release, Tabby’s Pride. She has also brought details on a great giveaway. So please join me in giving K-lee a big welcome!

grl tour badgeThank you, Jay, for supporting my blog tour for Tabby’s Pride. This is my fourth stop and I really appreciate being here. Smooches to you.

Tabby’s Pride is about shifter-rock stars—lion shifters to be more exact. It’s the third book I’ve written that has included this mixed pairing of paranormal awesomeness. The first two were from my Family of Misfits series—Lucius’ Bite, Ali’s Intuition and the soon-to-be-released Manny’s heart.

I’m a big squeeing rock star fangirl—even when it was Tiger Beat that gave me my fix—and shifter-lover—American Werewolf in London and the original Teen Wolf—from way back, and the combination of the two is even more exciting to me.

What exactly is the thing that makes me want to read and write about these seemingly exotic men? My answer to that can probably go on for pages and pages of nonsensical fangirling and cliché adjectives like awesomeness (which I’ve already used once), fabulousness and Oh-Em-Gee what’s not to love. But if I have to condense it—and trust me, it’s much better and articulate if I do—I’d say it’s their propensity for being wild and untamed.

It boils down to stereotypes that I don’t usually buy into, and generally don’t appreciate, but it’s so hard to ignore the bad boy reputations of rock stars. And with shifters already having that wild animal side, they seem to fit together perfectly. I don’t necessarily write them as love-’em-and-leave-’em kind of guys who drink and do drugs more than they eat or sleep, but the perception is still there.

There’s also a hint of mystery surrounding both groups. The shifters mystique is obvious—two beings inside one body with one generally more prominent than the other. Their paranormal side may be sweet as pie but the fact still remains that they change into some sort of exotic beast.

Rock stars also hide behind a different persona, at least some of them. More often than not, they aren’t the hard-partying, sex on a stick characters they portray. They’re men in committed relationships or looking for that special someone. That’s not to say they don’t kick ass on stage and when they’re with their adoring fans, but I believe their down time isn’t much different than what the rest of us have—minus the constant traveling, hotel rooms and adrenaline-fuelled performances.

Bottom line is that I love the bad boy image of both shifters and rock stars. I love the passion and enigmatic presence they possess, love the wild hair and sweaty, hot mess they become on stage, but I still tend to write them a little softer in their private lives. As with most of my characters—maybe all of them—I like to delve inside their heads, dig deep into their hearts, yank out all the soft mushiness they feel on the inside so they’re vulnerable and willing on the outside to express who they really are.

The Tabby’s Pride blog tour runs from May 12-20 and I’m offering up three prizes—2 ebook copies of Tabby as well as a $10.00 gift card from Amazon. You can enter by clicking the Rafflecopter and also earn extra entries by commenting on this post. Thanks for stopping by.

Tabbys PrideLevi is ready to do anything to make his rock star—and hopefully, personal—dreams come true.

Levi Tabberton has dreamed of being a rock star ever since his brother’s best friend, Alexander, showed him his guitar when he was young. But becoming a member of his boyhood crush’s band, Lion’s Pride, is even more important.

Growing up, Levi emulated Alexander Morrison and, years later, his feelings remain unchanged when he auditions for the band. Xan is laid-back, caring, gorgeous, and takes Levi under his wing—paw. But Levi’s guilt and insecurity hold him back from letting Xan see the real him.

Levi needs to prove himself worthy of the band and deserving of Xan’s attention, but the lengths he’s gone to have left him reeling with anxiety and exhaustion. Levi’s not sure how much longer he can pull off the charade he’s been acting out to reach his goals and to keep Xan’s affections.

Has he made the right choice or will his dreams fade in a catastrophe of lies and uncertainty?

Bio

K-lee Klein has lived in one part of Western Canada or another for her entire life. She’s a doting mother of three now-grown kids, and has had characters and plots running around her head for as long as she can remember. Her days consist of fighting off an abundance of fabulous gay men, large and small, bouncing off the walls of her skull, competing for their turns to tell their stories.

Among her favorite sub-genres to read and write are rock stars, cowboys, shifters, and opposites-attract relationships. But to be honest, she’s open to almost anything if it involves messing around in the heads of her characters. She’s also big on series—because she has a hard time letting her characters go—and is usually working on a handful of stories in various stages of completion all at the same time.
