Excerpt

In his anxiety to show Flynn said protection, Anthony suddenly became uncomfortably aware that he was standing, totally nude, in front of the window. He hoped fervently that his colleagues weren’t looking up at him. He’d never bloody live it down at the station. He hastily pulled the curtain back over and looked back at his lover. Flynn reached up a hand to caress his cheek and Anthony felt a sense of sheer relief that he was performing even that simple gesture.

“What have I done to deserve you? You’ve fixed it. At least as much it can be fixed.” Flynn smiled sadly. “But neither of us can fix whatever might have happened to Sumi. Please tell me you’ll catch him.”

Then Flynn reached up and took Anthony’s mouth in a kiss that made his groin burn and his stomach lurch as he kissed him back, despite the strains of the evening. Flynn’s tongue slid into his mouth, and Anthony groaned, his cock swelling hard and fast up against Flynn’s stomach. Flynn’s lips still tasted of brandy and Anthony drank him in, savouring the softness of his lips, breathing in the sighs he made. Flynn finally released his mouth and Anthony stood feeling bereft. Then with one quick movement, Flynn pulled him over to the bed and pushed him back onto the covers. He slid his boxers off and stood there, half-mast and with a look in his eyes that said he knew what he wanted. When he spoke his voice was husky.

“I know we shouldn’t be enjoying ourselves like this but I really need to feel you.”

Anthony knew that this sex was probably a simple primeval instinct to drive away the demons that plagued them both, coupled with the relief that both of them were there, safe together. He was more than willing to be Flynn’s solace if that was what he needed.

Their lovemaking was raw and animalistic, all push and pull, flesh against flesh. As Anthony thrust his tongue deep into Flynn’s mouth, as they struggled in their desire for each other, their teeth knocked together in their passion, and not for the first time he marvelled that this true moment of sexual bliss was all because of Flynn. He’d never felt this level of intimacy or passion with any other man before. Flynn straddled him, Anthony’s cock buried deep inside him as he rose and fell with the cadence of his lovemaking.

Then the Bow-Tie Killer strikes close to home and the world turns upside down. Right is wrong, black is white, and a policeman might become a monster. But in the name of love, justice must be served. In the name of love, pain can be endured. In the name of love, a man can taste the very essence that defines him.
