best 20142014 has been a year for the record books. For me anyway. In 2014, I became a published author, not once but three times. I’m still a bit stunned by that. In 2014, I met three of the best friends a girl could ask for—all related to this genre in one way or another. In 2014, I attended my very first GRL (with BFFs). In 2014, I also found time to read. A lot. As you well know.

I love to read. We all do, or we wouldn’t be here, sharing what we love so dearly with you. And I love a really great book. There are so many components that come together to create that kind of book—wonderful characters, gripping storylines, impeccable worlds, etc. That’s when we’re lucky. When an author really understands a character and a reader enough to entrap them and hold their attention until the very end.

In 2014, our feature week was Men in Uniform and who doesn’t love a man in uniform, let alone two (or three)? And we also started Throwback Thursday, which is probably one of my favorite features as I’ve had the opportunity to reread some of the books that made me fall in love with this genre to begin with. So, without further ado, here is my favorite books list of 2014 (in no particular order):
