“Uh, Liam may not be able to see, but I can. So will you shift or cover up, please?” Cory made an exaggerated gesture of blocking his view while moving over to Liam. “Just like you not to think of all the basics. Like…oh…I don’t know…a towel,” he goaded. “Your shirt is forfeit, to be used as Liam’s towel.”

“I’m standing right here,” Liam snapped.

“I know,” Sean said softly and threw his shirt to Cory as he dragged on his briefs and pants over his damp skin.

Wolfs-Sacrifice-Blog-Tour-copy“Then stop talking and walking around me. I have no idea where we are, and both of you are so busy snipping at each other you aren’t much help.”

Shit. He understood how uncomfortable Liam was when he had to reach out with both hands and feel around in the air, searching for any small indication of where he was in the physical space surrounding him. He’d once confided in Sean those moments were ones when he felt most vulnerable.

Cory rushed ahead and directed Liam to a log while he provided Liam with his clothes. Shoulders hunched, Liam turned from Sean and shimmied out of his soaked boxer briefs. The action revealed the beautiful curve of his spine as it flowed into the sexy curve of his taut ass. Sean ached to reach out and cup those supple cheeks.

Cory cleared his throat, and Sean’s gaze shot to his. The man watched him with narrowed eyes and shook his head. He gestured with one finger for Sean to turn around. Feeling like a pervert, Sean whirled and stared out over the lake. The calm waters were nothing like the torrent of emotions in his mind.

“He’s decent now,” Cory hollered.

Sean spun to a dressed but fidgeting Liam. The wet strands of his hair were swept away from his face.

“Thank you for taking me into the water,” Liam murmured.

Sean stepped closer. Without his enhanced hearing, he would never have been able to catch the softly spoken words.

“We can do it again.” Sean wasn’t sure if he meant swimming or the kiss. At the end of the day, Liam was responsible for leading the dance to every interaction.

A small smile overcame Liam’s face. “Yeah, if there’s time. For sure.”

The way Liam voiced it had him frowning. More so recently, he’d had the feeling Liam might be keeping something from him, but what it was eluded him.

“I’ll be around. I’ve appointed Lucas the negotiator of the pack for the time being. I want to spend more time around here.” He studied Liam for any response. The one he got surprised him.

Liam’s brow furrowed, and he nibbled on his lip, a gesture he used when he was nervous. What was the little wolf hiding?

“As fun as all this back-and-forth is, I have a job to get to. So you can moon over each other later,” Cory taunted with a wry grin.

“You’re an ass,” Sean growled.

Liam covered his mouth but couldn’t muffle his laughter, and Sean’s heart lightened that he’d managed to cause the happy sound again.

Cory rolled his eyes. “Blah, blah, blah. Go put a shirt on. We’re out of here.”

Sean snorted but stayed to watch Cory navigate Liam through the underbrush and trees back to the picnic. One day he’d figure out what it was that drew him to Liam. Then he’d have to figure out if he was going to do anything about it.

For the time being, he stripped his clothing and walked out to the edge of the dock. After glancing at an unruly dick that didn’t realize it should share the blood flow, he dived into the icy waters of the lake.

Blurb

Wolf's SacrificeSean Maddox has one basic goal: to protect the Northwest Pack. That priority helps him stay grounded—until the day the pack rescues Liam. Suddenly Sean is finding any excuse to be around the sweet, blind shifter. But trying to focus his thoughts on keeping Liam safe and not exploring the whole laundry list of carnal fantasies he’s been having is anything but grounding. It doesn’t help that Sean’s wolf makes it damn clear it believes Liam belongs to him.

From the first deep breath of Sean Maddox’s intoxicating scent, all Liam wants to do is strip naked for the sexy beta and let the wolf claim him. Hiding away his desires seems like the best plan, given after a lifetime in captivity Liam is just learning what it means to be free. What does he know about being a mate? More to the point, would Sean even want him if he knew the truth?

As Sean and Liam struggle with their growing craving for each other an old enemy steps out of the shadows. With secrets lurking and fate twisting two worlds together a sacrifice must be made, but can the two mates live with the consequences?
