Hi everyone! I am so excited today to announce our upcoming theme week: Time Travel Week!! It will be coming your way March 22-28.
Theme weeks are a week long celebration of a particular theme or trope. Past theme weeks have included Men in Uniform Week, Young Love Week, Rock Star Week, and many others. They are a big event here on the blog and always lots of fun. (And here is a quick link to all of our theme weeks)
For Time Travel Week we have a lot of fun ideas. We are focusing on books that cover different time periods, as well as those that specifically feature time travel. So for this week we will be reading, reviewing, and chatting about:
- Historicals
- SciFi/Futuristic
- Steampunk
- Time travel stories
So, what does a theme week involve? Well, everything that happens that week will revolve around our theme. So first, lots of reviews and guest spots featuring the above genres. Second, a Favorites list highlighting our favorite books with this theme. And third, a big ole giveaway!
As you can see, Time Travel Week is about five weeks away, and there are lots of ways that you all can get involved as we get ready.
Readers
Do you have suggestions for books we should review for Time Travel Week? Any favorites that we have not already reviewed? Or anything you have been eager to hear about that you want us to check out for you? Feel free to leave suggestions in the comments, or send me an email with your ideas. If any of you all are particular fans of this theme and are interested in writing a review or a post about it, I would love to talk to you about that too!
Authors and Publishers
Do you have a book out that you would like us to consider for review for Time Travel Week? Just let me know. We are particularly interested in books you may have coming out between now and then, or shortly after, so we can get a good mix of new and older books.
I am also looking for people to do guest spots on the blog that week. If you have something you’d like to talk about that fits the theme, get in touch and we can talk.
Giveaways
One of the hallmarks of our theme weeks are nice, big ole giveaway events. Do you have books you want to donate to our giveaway? We are open to anything that fits our theme. We are also thrilled to take prizes like gift cards, publisher store credits, or anything else fun you can think of. For our last theme week we had over 100 prizes! It was amazing and I would love to have another fabulous giveaway again. Each prize will be featured in detail on our Giveaway post (see our MIU week post for an example). They get tons of traffic and are always a big hit with readers. So if you have anything you would like to donate, let me know.
The gang and I are super excited about this one and can’t wait to share it with you. If anyone has any ideas for things I haven’t mentioned, let me know. Thanks!
How about Blue River? Photographer Ethan goes back in time to 1863 and meets deeply closeted rancher, Quinn. It’s a reader favorite. 🙂
Oh, oh, I love time travel stories. How about Paradox Lost by Libby Drew? I really enjoyed that one.
Oooh, loved that one too! I actually have already reviewed it here, but it was fabulous. Definitely will go on our Time Travel Favorites list.
Some Historical favourites that you’ve probalbly reviewed : Magpie series, Whyborne and Griffin, Ava March, The Celestial, Crofton Chronicles, Kaje Harper’s DritC stories.
Some I can’t see reviewed but may have been : Heart’s Home, HB Pattskyn; On a Lee Shore, Elin Gregory; The Lion & The Crow, Eli Easton (DritC version), Downtime and If It Aint Love, Tamara Allen; Where My Love Lies Dreaming, Christopher Hawthorn Moss; Endersely, SA Meade; Blue River, Theo Fenraven as above
Oh, thanks so much! I will look into all of these. And yes, some have been reviewed but great choices!
I LOVE time travel stories. Some particular ones that come to mind: Vona Logan’s Return to Destiny, One Constant and its sequel, Right on Time, by Dawn Kimberly Johnson, It Had to Be You by B.G. Thomas, and Fourth and Long by Chris Scully. One I’d love to see reviewed but haven’t read yet would be Michelle Rae’s Time for Destiny. The aspect of historical and cultural difference is an intriguing change-up. I am both excited and dreading this theme week because of all the new stories I expect to find and will want to buy!
Ooh, thanks Carolyn! I will look into all of these! I appreciate the suggestions!
You’re welcome! I know DSP did that Time Travel anthology that One Constant and Fourth and Long are from, and I feel like I should know more, but I can’t seem to pull any more out. I bet this is where keeping book logs comes in handy.
Yes, I have all my books in Calibre. Gives me cloud access to everything (including non kindle books) and also lets me search, sort, track, etc. And we will definitely check out the Time travel antho!
