Today I am so pleased to welcome Sue Brown to Joyfully Jay. Sue has come to talk to us about her release, Stolen Dreams. She has also brought along a great giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!
If you read the excerpt you may wonder why I’ve only given you a paragraph. Well, it’s all about secrets, or rather the moment a secret becomes public.
Recently I had to keep a secret. A big one regarding myself. I was so shell-shocked it was really hard not to blurt it out to everyone, but I just told a few people because I needed the support. When I got good news (I’d been told I possibly had cancer but it’s just scar tissue – woohoo) then I was ready to tell the world. This was a matter of keeping quiet for a couple of weeks.
In Stolen Dreams Shae keeps a secret for five years. A real, devastating secret. I can’t imagine doing that. It would have weighed me down every single day.
I find it easier to keep someone else’s secret than my own. I hate having to hold things back. I’m part of a large family. Secrets are almost inevitable. Recently I discovered if I’d been open to one of my siblings it might have saved them a whole lot of anguish. I feel very guilty about that.
There are things that I don’t view as secrets per se. I don’t reveal family info on social media unless I have permission to do so. I keep my kids’ information private because they’d kill me if I posted photos or details. I view that as the difference between a private life and a professional life.
What do you feel about secrets? Have you had to keep a secret of your own? Or someone else’s secret? Do you find it easy to keep secrets?
AND THAT was the point when the last puzzle piece finally clicked quietly into place. The knowledge should have been accompanied by a major drum roll. Morgan’s heart was pounding so hard in his ears, he was amazed no one else heard it.
After cheating on and losing the man he loved, Morgan Conway decided to get his life right. Now he owns a coffee shop and is engaged to Jase, an actor and rising star. All is perfect in his world until the man he thought was gone forever walks into his shop. His hidden feelings rush to the surface, unfortunately there for everyone to see, including his fiancé. Shae Delamere was crushed when Morgan cheated on him five years ago. But he has a reason for seeking Morgan out. As Morgan and Shae get to know each other again, they discover the extent that friends meddled in their lives to keep them apart. Morgan cannot deny he is still in love with Shae, but he is engaged. With some hard decisions to make, Morgan struggles not to hurt the men he cares about—again. Shae has secrets he came to share with Morgan, but revealing them now could keep them apart for good.
Sue Brown is owned by her dog and two children. When she isn’t following their orders, she can be found plotting at her laptop. In fact she hides so she can plot and has got expert at ignoring the orders. Sue discovered M/M erotica at the time she woke up to find two men kissing on her favourite television series. The kissing was hot and tender and Sue wanted to write about this men. She may be late to the party, but she’s made up for it since, writing fan fiction until she was brave enough to venture out into the world of original fiction.
