Scott thought he had his crush on his twin brother Sawyer under control, mostly because he created distance between them by moving to the other side of the country. Then Sawyer calls and asks to stay with Scott for a few days and Scott has nowhere to hide his feelings inside of his small apartment. After pushing Sawyer away for so long, Scott has to either admit to Sawyer that he’s always been in love with him or push Sawyer away for good.
When we first meet Scott it’s easy to see that he has been trying to do the right thing for so long. He moved to NY from California to create distance with his twin brother. He is now a doctor and he looks after many of the residents in his apartment building. He is kind of freaking out that Sawyer is coming to stay with him as it gets harder to keep his feelings under control when they are together. We get to know Scott a bit more than Sawyer and his yearning for his brother is clear, but Sawyer was kept more at a distance.
There is only time for a brief history into when their attraction started. The story moves quickly and there is a voyeuristic scene that amps up the heat. For a short story, there were quite a number of side characters within Scott’s apartment building. There was a lot of drama surrounding these characters and I would have preferred the time to have been spent on the men establishing their relationship.
The story was well written and Lace manages to make the taboo seem familiar and realistic. But there was an emotional punch that was missing for me overall as Scott has wanted his brother his entire life, but the scene of them coming together was lacking in intensity for me.

Tobias and Thomas have been involved in a relationship for years. They have always been in love with each other, but no one else knows. Spending the weekend with their family at their grandmother’s beach home doesn’t allow for much privacy and it turns out almost everyone is hiding a secret.
This story takes a somewhat different path than most stories involving twins as the men have already been in a relationship for years. They are secure in their relationship and, although their biggest fear seems to be their family finding out, they are not overly discreet.
The story does show how committed the guys are to each other, but mostly deals with the aftermath of the family finding out as well as other family secrets and dramas. Everyone had a somewhat stereotypical part to play between their grandmother, sister, father, and stepmother all acting somewhat scripted. Again, Lace manages to take the topic of twins being in a relationship accessible, but this story overall fell kind of flat for me as there were then many family dramas all being dealt with at the same time.
For both of these stories claiming the allure of twincest, they both left me underwhelmed.
