Hi everyone! So we are fresh off the excitement of New-to-Me Author Week and it was just amazing! We have had great participation by our readers by commenting on our review posts, and a fabulous group of folks who read along and gave us their reviews on Friday. So there is still time to enter the Week 1 giveaway for some fabulous books from Samhain. You can check out this post for more details and leave your reviews here.
And starting tomorrow we move on to TBR Pile Week! This week we will be reading books that have been in our TBR piles for at least a year. And I am crazy excited that the week is being sponsored by Dreamspinner Press who is offering an insanely awesome prize!
So first off, if you aren’t caught up on the event, be sure to check out the details here. It has just about everything you might need to know about what is going on and there is still plenty of time to get involved.
Ok, so this week we will be reviewing books Monday-Friday that have been languishing in our TBR piles. Here is what we are reviewing:
Monday
- Not His Kiss to Take by Finn Marlowe
- Hot Ticket by K.A. Mitchell
- Barren by Anna Hedley
Tuesday
- Complementary Colors by Adrienne Wilder
- Scarred by J.M. Snyder
Wednesday
- The Devil Lancer by Astrid Amara
- Twice in a Lifetime by Shawn Lane
Thursday
- Lightning Rod by Vaughn R. Demont
- Sam and Derek: The Whole Story by Brad Vance
Friday
- The Shed by Dianne Hartsock
You guys join in this week in two ways:
1) Leave a relevant comment on any of the challenge review posts (one entry for each post you comment on)
2) Read along and provide a mini review of your book on our Friday wrap up post (10 entries)
And what can you win? Well this week is sponsored by Dreamspinner Press and they are giving away an AMAZING prize!
Dreamspinner Press is giving away an iPad Mini filled with all of their summer releases, plus a vintage spiral book rack (without the books)!
Every entry earned this week (and every week throughout the month) will also go toward a drawing for a fabulous grand prize sponsored by Riptide Publishing. Riptide is giving Advanced Review Copies of 12 of their books that publish in September and beyond! For most of these titles, you will get them well before they are even released, in special paperback format made just for the trades for review (so there are usually only about 10 of each book in this form in existence!). Books include:
- Bane by Amelia C. Gormley – Releases September 21
- Rough Road by Vanessa North — Releases September 28
- Lesson for Sleeping Dogs by Charlie Cochrane — Releases Oct 12
- Minotaur by J.A. Rock — Releases Oct 19
- Dead Ringer by Heidi Belleau and Sam Schooler — Releases Oct 26
- A Fortunate Blizzard by L.C. Chase — Releases Nov 2
- Tribute: The Complete Series — Releases Nov 2
- Rebound Remedy by Christine d’Abo – Releases Nov 9
- Y Negative by Kelly Haworth — Releases Nov 16
- Blueberry Boys by Vanessa North — Releases Nov 30
- Winter Oranges by Marie Sexton – Releases Nov 30
- Subs Club by J.A. Rock – Releases Dec 7
The winner will get all these books shipped at the end of September, so you will get your copies WAY before anyone else gets their hands on them! (International winners: due to high shipping costs, Riptide can’t send paperbacks overseas. International folks will get copies of all of these books in ebook form the Saturday before they are released.)
So I really look forward to another great week, and please join me in thanking Riptide and Dreamspinner for their sponsorship this week!
Wow! Great books this week as well. I’m joining you with The Pinch of the Game by Charlie Descoteaux. 🙂
Thanks! Glad you are joining in!
I had a good time, seeing so many new-to-me authors, some of which ended up on my wishlist for future reads. And for the coming I’ve chosen Tamara Allen’s The Only Gold; it’s been on my ereader for almost two years, so its about time.
I’m going with Keira Andrews’ A FORBIDDEN RUMSPRINGA. (I was going to do Eden Winters’ MANIPULATION for the challenge, but realized it’s been out less than a year. I’m happy to finally start reading it, though!)
Oh, it is SOOO good! I hope you love it as much as I did!
I’d like to read Dance with Me by Heidi Cullianan but she re-released it a few days ago… I’m not sure if the it counts.
Just to be on the safe side, I’m going with Bewitched by Bella’s Brother by Amy Lane. I so need to read more of her books.
Oh I have heard great things about that one too!
Sure! It is a wonderful book and works fine for this since I don’t think much was changed in between versions.
I’ve only read two of these, so it looks like I have a lot of new books to learn about this coming week. I chose Tali Spencer’s Thick as Thieves for my TBR Pile challenge. I don’t even know why it’s been there that long, just kept getting pushed aside and every time someone would say something good about it, I’d think how I had to read it. I started it today, and for everyone who’s already read it, you know it starts out verrrry interestingly. I’m already looking forward to more!
i’ve only got a few on my TBR that are over a year! I do try and read the older ones as much as the new shiny ones!!!!
So Chase the Sun (RJ Scott/Meredith Russell) and The Scarlet Tide (Stephen Osborne)Â
Okay, I’m sort of ashamed of how long this has been in my TBR pile… Tigers and Devils has been languishing since its original publication. In 2012. But I am read to finally read it!
Juliana, I’m such a fan of Sean Kennedy’s writing, and this series definitely, that I just had to comment back. I’m glad you’re finally going to get to it. I hope it’s a great read for you (I’m biased, so of course I think it will be), and if nothing else, at least you will have read it!
I must have hundreds of unread books on my iPad. My TBR list just keeps growing. I’m not sure what my next read will be.
I’ve got TONS of books on my Kindle that are over a year old. I’m having a super hard time choosing one but I’m working on it.   🙂
I have lots of TBR books on my ereader, so now i have the difficult task of looking through them and picking one for this challenge ; )
I’m reading 3 books that I completely forgot I had!
Yay for cleaning out the TBR Pile!
