Today I am so pleased to welcome Keira Andrews back to Joyfully Jay. Keira has come to talk to us about her latest release, If Only in My Dreams (which I reviewed here). She has also brought along a backlist book to give away. Please join me in giving Keira a big welcome!
The holidays are truly my favorite time of year. In December, I just adore all the lights, decorations, delicious treats, and catching up with dear family and friends.
It’s also the only time of year I enjoy snow and cold weather! Living in Toronto, January through April is pretty miserable, weather wise. Cold and dreary, with the sun rarely making an appearance. But in December? Bring on the snow and ice! I delight in every flake and gust of arctic wind.
It can be hit or miss in recent years as to whether or not Toronto has a white Christmas, and I get very put out when we don’t! Fortunately, there’s usually snow up where my mom lives, and we love snowshoeing and then warming up with hot cocoa and roasted chestnuts. Yep, we bring to life pretty much every Christmas stereotype in my family. 🙂
I did spend one Christmas in Australia on the beach, and I have to say it just didn’t feel the same! Of course if you’re used to sunny warmth in December, snow would likely feel just as foreign to you. No matter where we’re from, there’s really no place like home at the holidays. In my new romance, ex-friends Charlie and Gavin must battle fog, snow, and all manner of obstacles to make it home. And they just might reconnect with each other along the way…
Do you love snow in December, or would you rather be sun worshipping? Do you live in a warm climate and can’t imagine a frosty holiday? Comment and let me know, and you can win a free book!

Blurb
To be home for Christmas, they must bridge the distance between them.
Charlie Yates is desperate. It’s almost Christmas and his flight home from college has been delayed. For days. Charlie promised his little sister Ava he’d be home for her first holiday season since going into remission from leukemia. Now he’s stuck on the opposite coast and someone else grabbed the last rental car. Someone he hasn’t even spoken to in four years. Someone who broke his heart.
Gavin Bloomberg’s childhood friendship with Charlie ended overnight after a day of stolen kisses. With years of resentment between them, they don’t want to be in the same room together, let alone a car. But for Ava’s sake, Gavin agrees to share the rental and drive across the country together.
As they face unexpected bumps along the road, can Charlie and Gavin pave the way to a future together?
Bio
After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration, Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes contemporary, historical, paranormal, and fantasy fiction, and—although she loves delicious angst along the way—Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar Wilde once said, “The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.”

I must recognise I really love a white Christmas. Unfortunately enough, where I live is really cold in winter, but normally snow arrives around February and not exactly in December… But it is cold enough to make you want to stay inside with a nice cup of chocolate, enjoying family and season traditions
I live in Melbourne, Australia so it’s summertime at Christmas, I love the beautiful weather but my family have the traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings so some years the aircon is going flat-chat to keep the house cool enough. I was on holidays with friends in England for one Christmas and the difference of celebrating in winter was fantastic to experience, it even snowed.
I prefer the cold because I’d rather bundle up than sweat but I live in California so it doesn’t get that cold here.
I love Christmas stories!
I really like the cover of this one. The scarf game is on point!
I just bought this one! Couldn’t resist!!!
If Only In My Dreams I win!!!!!
I don’t like to be cold, but I wish I could just have snow one day a year (Christmas of course). But we only occasionally get a light dusting that melts quickly.
I loved If Only in my Dreams!!
I love the Christmas season, relaxing on the sofa with a good book while it’s cold outside 🙂
Since I’m retired and no longer have to get out in it I don’t mind the snow. Now ice is a different story as that usually means power outages which are no fun no how. When bad weather is predicted you will find me at the store stocking up because I will not be going out until it thaws. I also stock up on ebooks because my crappy internet service goes out if it gets too cloudy. Would love to add any of your books to my stockpile.
We have no snow here. Actually, I think there would be widespread panic if it really snowed since we don’t have salt, plows or anything necessary, really, to deal with actual snow.
I spent Christmas once in Michigan and the sun never came out.
I don’t love the cold, but I do love a white Christmas. I hope for one every year.
I hate snow & it’s a real possibility to have a white Christmas where I live….
I like the cold better than I like the heat. I like seeing snow but I hate walking in it.
I live in California and it has only snowed once here in my lifetime (when I was around 5)! I’m afraid here we complain about the cold when it is 50 degrees. I’m finding though that I get older I like the warmer climate better. We went to Hawaii last month and I realized that my arthritis didn’t bother me as much while we were there!
I’m a snow bunny for December. Of course, after the holidays, that’s a different story….
I live in Wisconsin – so we have lots of cold and lots of snow. I like snow at Christmas, it just adds to the magic but it gets really old by January. I am glad I have 2 strong boys to shovel it all!
