Who doesn’t love a man in uniform? In this anthology, readers are treated to an Air Force pilot, a park ranger, a delivery man, an EMT and a firefighter, a flight attendant, a couple of police officers, and a couple of chefs. This collection of short stories has something for everyone. From short and sweet to being so hot and sexy, these stories packed quite a punch despite being quick reads. While ordinarily I am not a fan of short stories, I have to admit that more than a few of these have convinced me that a good story shouldn’t be determined by word count.

The Encounter by Angora Shade

When his wingman doesn’t show up, an Air Force pilot discovers the thrill of sex in public places. This is probably one of the sexiest short stories I’ve read – I hated to see it end!

Wishing on the Perseid by Kay C. Sulli

Zach Johnson’s first vacation in years is a camping trip Moraine Park campground where he meets Ranger Ryan Jenkins. This story had a bit more substance to it and gives readers a potential for a happily ever after at the end.

Special Delivery by DC Juris

Camden’s cousin asks him to take his delivery shift working with Axel – the object of many of Camden’s dreams. Newly single, Axel has a special delivery that will leave Camden wanting more. Who doesn’t love a bad boy – and Axel is a bad boy with his tattoos!

Westward Avenue Matchmaker by Jean Wolfe

EMT Peter can totally understand Mrs. McKinney’s fascination with starting kitchen fires if it means having firefighter Tom responding. I was a bit disappointed with this one as I wasn’t really feeling anything between the guys more than stolen glances at each other for most of the story and then  the story ends just when it started to get interesting.

On the Wing by Shannen Malone

Travel photographer Paolo flies frequently and immediately notices the new flight attendant, Alex. This was one of those stories that I wished was a bit longer because I just loved these two characters as a couple – even when they weren’t a couple.

Let It Hurt by Kassandra Lea

All Leo Shelton wants to do is to patch things up with his boyfriend Caleb Hart, a city police officer. When Leo is in a car accident, the two realize how fragile life is and how much they need each other. Despite this being a short story, it packs quite a punch emotionally.

Loggerhead by Dale Cameron Lowry

Chefs Jake and Erik have been together for six years and never got around to taking their honeymoon. In this short story, the two head off to Florida for some rest and relaxation. This is a great story about a committed couple remembering why they fell in love after somewhat drifting apart.

The Night Shift by Louise Blaydon

Jonas Kelshiker works the night shift at the police department in the Evidence Room. While his job is usually monotonous, the arrival of Officer Dan Harris shakes things up. This was a great “how we met” storyline. It was hands down, my favorite in the anthology as the characters had great chemistry together.

Roadside Assistance by Aiden McKenna

When Robert is pulled over for speeding, he tries to talk his way out of it…except, maybe he should have put his mouth to better use. I will admit, I wasn’t expecting the ending!

I loved this anthology! While some of the stories were hot and spicy, others were quite mild and made for a nice mixture so that there is something here for everyone. So, if you love a man in uniform, you’ve got to check this one out!
