Length: Short Story

Evan has been working toward finishing his first semester in college and Riley has been a perfect support for him as he reaches for his dreams. Shaun’s Christmas is exactly everything he wanted it to be, with both the traditions he’s had with his grandmother and also sharing the day with Con, whom he’s come to love more than he thought possible. And Mikey, Cory, and Jimmy are gearing up for a New Year’s Eve party with an addition that no one expects. Each of these men have been through tough times, but now with the year coming to a close, they really know what’s the most important to them and are embracing it whole heartedly.

Okay, so y’all know I’m a big fan of Connor’s Sons series. All three books made my year’s top favorites, and I really enjoyed them. To finish the year with this short story, bringing back all of the guys I’ve loved watching fall in love, was the perfect end.

I loved that each relationship was the focus for a section. I loved that we got to see the growth each man had made in the intervening time, while also being reassured that they are still living their HEA.  Connor has a magical ability to walk the line of fairy tale and reality, so the moments in this short story were believable even as they had an edge of too perfect about them. I love the consistency of characters. I loved seeing these guys act exactly how I expected them too. It’s a very well done short, exactly what it needed to be and nothing more or less.

Guys, this is a short story that is the absolute perfect coda to the Sons series. If you’ve been following along, then this is going to make your heart melt and give you all the happy sighs of a series well finished  And if you have yet to read the series, then get on it, and know you have the perfect ending to the series waiting for you when you get there.
