Mike doesn’t like cats…but he does like, Riley, the man who breeds them–very much. But between his allergic reactions, Riley’s considerable skepticism about romance, and Mike’s determination to prove Riley wrong, Riley Laytham is going to be Mike’s—come hell or high water.
Learning to Love Cats is a cute, flirtatious short story that absolutely demands you check your disbelief at the door. Insta love, crazy funny, and so very sweet, author K.M. Mahoney weaves a magical snippet about falling in love. Riley is so reluctant to believe that Mike could really love him after only a few dates, but despite his disbelief that he could ever be the object of Mike’s desire, he knows that he is also drawn to Mike as well. For Mike it is a foregone conclusion that Riley will be his and he’s even willing to learn to like those darn cats to prove it.
This is not a long involved or angsty love story; rather it is simple, sweet and quick. However, in a short span of time, Mahoney manages to create two lovely characters, a sweet side cast of brothers and nephews, and spin a story that is fun, witty, and cute. Learning to Love Cats is kind-hearted story one can fall into and enjoy and looking for much else will disappoint you. While there may be flaws in the telling, the story is still a lovely tale of love and happy ever after.
