Brett Bridgeworth is a college freshman who is struggling in math. Brent is excited when the sexy and mysterious math tutor, Jeremy Price, takes Brett on. As the tutoring sessions begin, Brett finds himself falling under Jeremy’s spell and it isn’t until he tries to break things off that he finds out that he’s been caught in Jeremy’s web and there is no escape.

Sam Hawthorne is two years ahead of Brett. When the two first meet, it is instant attraction. Unfortunately, Sam doesn’t make his move quick enough before Jeremy makes his. After Brett breaks things off with Jeremy, Sam is there to help him pick up the pieces…except Jeremy isn’t going to let Brett go without a fight.

I honestly had goosebumps reading this story! Told in Brett’s point of view, readers will find themselves standing in his shoes as Jeremy draws him into his web. I have to say, Jeremy is the most frightening character I’ve had the pleasure of reading in a long time! He was the perfect villain for this story because he knew exactly how to manipulate Brett into doing just what he wanted. He preyed on Brett’s insecurities and fears in order to control him. Best villain ever!

You can’t have a villain without having a superhero. While Sam may not have any special powers, readers will find themselves cheering in his corner. Sam is immediately drawn to Brett, but he fails to move quick enough before Jeremy swooped in and staked his claim. Sam consoles himself with just being a good friend to Brett and then when Brett and Jeremy break up, Sam swoops in and saves the day…or at least he tries to.

The sex scenes in this book vary from the downright creepy to hot and romantic. The scenes between Brett and Jeremy were so authentic that I literally felt nauseous. Honestly, I wanted to shake Brett and yell at him to wake up and realize how wrong this was. On the other hand, the scenes between Brett and Sam were completely different as readers are treated to some hot but romantic scenes.

I only had one complaint about this story and that was the issue of Brett and his relationship with his dad. Throughout the story, readers learn that Brett’s relationship with his dad is strained – to put it mildly. Yet, towards the end, it was as if his father was a completely different person than we had seen earlier in the book. Not necessarily a bad thing – since I loved his dad at the end – but the lack of any real explanation as to why his dad did a complete 360 made it a bit confusing.

Overall, I really liked this book. I thought the author did an amazing job bringing to light the issue of domestic abuse and stalking and how it pertains to college age students. I highly recommend!
