Chad Lake is the quintessential playboy. He loves life, loves sex, and loves to have fun. He doesn’t do commitment of any type, and that includes career-wise. Except, Chad has come to a point in his life where he is tired of job hopping and more than anything he wants to go back to school to sharpen his skills as a graphic designer. But is it too late?

Before Owen Hawkins meets Chad at a Gamers party, he doesn’t know what to think about him, only that he’s been told by his boss, Marley Lake, that her brother is somewhat of a free-spirit. After the party, Owen thinks more about Chad—such as that he’s a cocky, too-sexy-for-his-own-good jerk. And Owen can’t stop thinking about him.

Every time Chad and Owen meet, tempers flare and sparks fly. They work well in the sex department, but anything that comes after is a problem for them. Chad naturally pushes Owen away and Owen doesn’t want to tie himself to an asshole. Then Austin, Marley’s boyfriend, asks for Chad and Owen’s help planning his over-the-top proposal to Chad’s sister. Working together prompts Chad and Owen to get to know each other. Tempers still flare, but so do emotions. Once Owen and Chad begin to get to know each other, they each begin seeing a future together. But with such a fragile beginning, the slightest of secrets can make everything crumble around them.

I’m a huge fan of Megan Erickson’s Gamers series—a series about hot geeks and their even hotter counterparts. If you read m/f as well, I suggest reading these books. Lucky for those of you who don’t, Tied to Trouble can be read as a standalone. Although, I for one was thrilled Chad finally got his own story. I loved the free-spirited Chad from the first moment I met him. He’s sexy, devil may care, and precious—especially when it comes to his sister. What I loved most about him, and this story, was that Chad has secrets that make him both geeky like his sister and wonderfully adorable—as well as extra sexy. I adore his need to be more but his worry that he’s not cut out for it.

And always with the geeky boys, I found Owen head over heels fabulous. He’s this quiet geek with very strict personal rules, yet he breaks every one of them when it comes to Chad and eventually, he doesn’t regret it. The best part about Owen is that he’s not at all what he appears to be. Okay, yes, he’s a gamer geek. That’s a given, else he wouldn’t have a place in this series. But other than that, with Chad, he’s this dominant, bossy, sexy as hell man who gets what he wants when he wants.

From the first chapter, the tension between Chad and Owen is palpable. I can’t even go into the steaminess of their scenes without a fan. Needless to say, the guys have chemistry. So much chemistry. But they also have this love/hate thing going on. They don’t want to want each other, yet they can’t keep from it, which makes for great drama.

So much of this story is fabulous. I’m head over heels for Chad and Owen and now think they are my favorite Gamers couple. Although, I was thrilled and totally geeked out for the Marley-Austin event in this book. So awesome. I highly recommend Tied to Trouble by Megan Erickson.
