Today I am so pleased to welcome Indra Vaughn to Joyfully Jay. Indra has come to talk to us about her latest release, Patchwork Paradise. She has also brought along a great giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Patchwork Paradise Tour Banner

“Do a blog tour!” Riptide said.

“I don’t know what to write about!” I answered.

“Tell us what the moodboard for your book would look like,” they said.

“Okay.”

*Googles moodboard*

Cool.

So.

In Patchwork Paradise, Ollie would totally have a moodboard. He would seriously have it hanging up in his office in work, first to plan his wedding, maybe, and then later just to get through life after it’s gone to, um, heck. (Can I swear? I don’t know if I’m allowed to swear…)

Anyway, Ollie’s wedding (Before) moodboard (and please autocorrect, stop changing it to moldboard) would be full of pastels and pretty flowers and maybe even a hint of lace, just to annoy Sam, but his After board would be… dark. At first anyway, once he’s up to putting one together again. It would be his friend Cleo who would suggest he make one. It would be full of sad lyrics, black and white pictures, Antwerp in the rain, that kind of stuff. Pictures of Sam he can’t stand to look at for very long, or maybe can’t look away from when he should be doing other things.

Then slowly other things would work their way into the board. A happy picture of the two of them together, something funny Thomas said. Hopeful lyrics of a song he heard while he was on the tram to work. Maybe even a picture of him and his friends at the Abbaye de Clairefontaine where they say goodbye to Sam.

And then even later it would be full of baby pictures, obviously.

Always with room for Sam though. And Thomas won’t mind one bit.

So do you guys have moodboards? Would it be something you’d put together? I’m thinking it’s a good idea to use for a future book…

Blurb

Patchwork ParadiseOliver and Samuel’s relationship is fairy-tale perfect. They share a gorgeous house in Antwerp, go out with their friends every weekend, and count down the days to their dream wedding. But their happy ending is shattered one late night, and just like that, Ollie is left bereft and alone.

The months that follow are long and dark, but slowly Ollie emerges from his grief. He even braves the waters of online dating, though deep down he doesn’t believe he can find that connection again. He doesn’t think to look for love right in front of him: his bisexual friend Thomas, the gentle giant with a kind heart and sad eyes who’s wanted him all along.

When Thomas suddenly discovers he has a son who needs him, he’s ill prepared. Ollie opens up his house—Sam’s house—and lets them in. Ollie doesn’t know what scares him more: the responsibility of caring for a baby, or the way Thomas is steadily winning his heart. It will take all the courage he has to discover whether or not fairy tales can happen for real.

Bio

After living in Michigan, USA for seven wonderful years, Indra Vaughn returned back to her Belgian roots. There she will continue to consume herbal tea, do yoga wherever the mat fits, and devour books while single parenting a little boy and working as a nurse.

The stories of boys and their unrequited love will no doubt keep finding their way onto the page—and hopefully into readers hands—even if it takes a little more time.

And if she gleefully posts pictures of snow-free streets in winter, you’ll have to forgive her. Those Michigan blizzards won’t be forgotten in a hurry.
