Terry ‘Kid Bacchus’ Ryan knows a thing or two about wrestling. He runs a wrestling organization with his uncle and grandmother and is one of the popular faces in the ring. Times are changing though as a new wrestling organization is on the scene offering a whole new side to the wrestling experience. Terry is good looking by everyone’s standards and when he’s not in the ring he has plenty of men to choose from to keep himself entertained. With tickets to shows becoming a tougher sell, Terry takes on a new wrestler with a business plan to bring the spectators back into the seats.
Wrestling For Top is a seven-part series that is broken down into shorter stories. This first story introduces us to Terry and the larger world of professional wrestling. Terry’s family’s organization is similar to the WWE style of wrestling and one of their biggest names, someone Terry trusted, has just walked off the mat for good. The new competition offers a whole new style of professional wrestling where the blood is real, as well as the adrenaline fueled, claiming style, winner take all sex show finale. This book certainly falls into the category of erotica and a good portion could be considered a wrestling fantasy come to life. There is a large story brewing involving Terry’s uncle and his deceased father, but just the very basics are offered at this point.
The point of view here wasn’t exceptionally tight. Some of the story was in Terry’s point of view, but other areas read as if an independent narrator had taken over to tell some aspects of the story. Do not look for a romance in this first installment as Terry has more than one partner in this story alone. But do look for sweaty guys, hard core wrestling matches, locker room hookups, and a unique start to an erotic serial.
Terry and Doug have taken Marc’s advice and they have booked a wrestling tour throughout Europe. This is big news as Doug used to be a wrestler and swore he would never return to a large European tour. The reason has always been kept from Terry and it also links back to Terry’s father death. Marc however is MIA as the tour kicks off and then appears for his wrestling match as the masked Johnny Deuce. Marc, or perhaps it’s Johnny Deuce, clearly has ulterior motives and the scene is set for mystery. Terry has also caught the eye of his wrestling opponent, Yves Montaigne, and things are heating up between the two of them both in and out of the ring.
This second installment ramps up into nighttime drama style with character names and motives purposely kept hidden to add to the mystery and drama that will soon unfold. Terry is free with both his trust and his body and this is setting the stage for behind the scenes players that clearly have an ulterior motive and at the moment Terry appears as a pawn in a much larger game. Everything is a mystery at this point between Marc, Yves, and exactly what Doug doesn’t want to talk about. There is much to discover here as Terry continues his erotic and possibly dangerous journey throughout the world of professional wrestling.
