What does YOUR hero wear under there?

Thanks so much for having me! I’m so thrilled to celebrate the release of ALL NOTE LONG! In the book, my country music superstar hero gets tangled up with a gogo dancer.  When Michelin first spots Lucky in a club, the first thing he notices after all that enticing skin is Lucky’s red briefs. This sets up a fun recurring theme in the book with Lucky’s love, both professionally as a gogo dancer and personally as a preference, of designer underwear.

Now Michelin is strictly a boxer brief kind of guy, and despite his million-dollar home and superstar label, he still wears the kind that comes in a multi-pack of neutral shades. So he’s a bit surprised how intrigued he is by Lucky’s designer collection of colorful briefs. This was awfully fun to write, especially because I’m rather used to characters answering the “boxers or briefs” question in rather boring terms.

Square GraphicNo research required for those heroes, but with Lucky it was a different story. First, I discovered the marvelous world of Andrew Christian’s trophy boys. Watching all their promo videos was no chore 😉 I had Lucky wear a galaxy print brief from the “twerk” collection in one of the opening scenes.

Then I discovered entire online stores devoted to high end men’s briefs and had a lot of fun picking out styles, even when I didn’t name drop the brands in the text. From Hugo Boss’s package defining boxers to Paul Smith’s colorful stripes and the uber-sexy looks of 2(X)ist and C-IN2 briefs, I had a lot of fun taking Lucky virtual shopping.

Some men take their underwear very, very seriously and there are whole forums and Reddit threads devoted to finding the best brands and styles. My research also took me to several bars with gogo dancers, and I noticed a wide range of approaches from dancers—barely there jockstraps dancing right alongside wrestling slinglets and football pants as well as the occasionally pair of unbuttoned jeans. Costumes like the wrestlers and footballers seemed to get great attention and tips from patrons but package defining briefs and jocks were the most common look.

I purposely didn’t include pictures with this post because I didn’t want anyone to get uncomfortable with NSFW pictures, but if you’re in the mood for a little research of your own, I suggest andrewchristian.com (don’t forget to visit the videos section!), mensunderwearstore.com, and internationaljock.com. Now, Lucky wants to know—what’s YOUR preference? Do you like your men in classic briefs? Body hugging boxer briefs? Colorful wear? Commando?

Thank you and I hope you enjoy ALL NOTE LONG!

ALL NOTE LONGGiving true love a spin . . .

Michelin Moses is a country music star on the rise. With a hit single under his Texas-sized belt buckle and a sold-out concert tour underway, his childhood dreams of making it big are finally coming true. But there’s one thing missing—a promise to his dying mother that he’d find it—him—when the time was right. With a little luck, he won’t have to wait too long . . .

Lucky Ramirez is a hunky boy toy who dances at The Broom Closet, one of West Hollywood’s hottest gay bars. He loves what he does, and he’s good at it—almost as good as he is at playing dumb when he spots Michelin Moses at the bar. What happens next is off the charts—and keeps Michelin coming back for more. He’s just not sure it’s the right move for his career. But if Lucky gets his way, Michelin will get Lucky—and no matter how the media spins it, neither of them will be faking it . . .
