Hi everyone! Today we are starting the second week of our Reading Challenge Month! If you want more details on the event itself, including specifics on how to enter, check out the kick off post that ran earlier today.
Starting tomorrow we move on to Around the World Challenge Week! This week we will be reading books that are set in countries other than your own. To help you out, we have a huge list of Favorite International Books that includes some of our favorites, plus lots of reader suggestions. They are broken down by region and we have everything from Norway to Antartica listed, so you have lots of options.
This week is sponsored by Riptide Publishing. They are giving away an amazing prize!
Riptide is giving away paperback ARCs, so our lucky winner will get some of these books way before they are even published! Books include:
- Bounty: The Complete Series by Christine d’Abo
- What Remains by Garrett Leigh
- Assassins: Discord by Erica Cameron
- Shatterproof by Xen Sanders,
- Can’t Hide From Me by Cordelia Kingsbridge, October 3
- Wolf’s Clothing by E.J, Russell, October 10
- Friendly Fire by Cari Z, October 17
- Change of Address by Jordan S. Brock, October 24
- Queer and the Restless by Kris Ripper, October 31
- Interborough by Santino Hassell, Oct 24
- Hotline by Quinn Anderson, Oct 31
(Note: Riptide isn’t able to mail the paperbacks internationally, so an international winner will receive ebook copies of these books at the time of release instead)
And all entries throughout the month qualify you for the grand prize sponsored by Dreamspinner Press. They are giving away a Kindle Fire loaded with all of their summer releases!
Here is what we are reviewing this week for the challenge:

This all sounds wonderful. The book I’ve selected is The Devil Lancer by Astrid Amara.
Oh, good choice! I have heard great things about that book!
Yay!! New challenge week. I was planning to read another two books but alas, I fear that I have busy schedule ahead so I will try with just one title first. If I’m lucky, I can add the additional title near the week-end.
I’ve had Yakuza Pride since it was released. I’ve started it 3 or 4 times but just can’t get into it. Maybe after I read
the review on Wednesday I’ll get the push to try again. If I remember correctly, it had quite a few good reviews
back then. 🙂
Looking forward to hearing about these! I’ve chosen THE RUSSIAN BOY by Neil Plakcy.
Good choice! Can’t wait to hear what you think!
I’m not sure what to read yet. Thank you for providing a the link for your favorite international books. It”s going to be so helpful >.<
In keeping with the ‘books I purchased and not read yet theme’ for international, I’m going to go with Cover Up by KC Burn. I read the first book in the series, and purchased the 2nd… but kept pushing it back. So to the front it goes.
Oh good idea! Might as well read something you already have!
I think I’ll go for More Than Anything by TT Kove. That way I can read along with you!
Great! Can’t wait to hear what you think!
This is an easy challenge for me because i’m from the Netherlands and i think it would be more difficult to find books that are set in my country LOL. So i’m going to browse my reader to see what i have on it 😉
LOL yes! You are pretty much guaranteed that anything you pick up will fit!
