Ian has no desire to follow in the footsteps of his father, even though he’s expected to take over his company someday. When Ian shows up drunk at a meeting in Bermuda, his father arranges to have Marc, an owner of a scuba diving charter boat, “babysit” Ian by taking him out to dive on a shipwreck site. The idea is to keep Ian out of trouble and out of sight so as to not embarrass his father while in negotiations with an important client.

Marc isn’t thrilled about this at all. He doesn’t have patience for a spoiled rotten “brat” of a wealthy man, but the pay is good. He takes Ian into the water and they dive the wreck. When they surface, they see the boat has been robbed while they were under. The thieves took everything…even the gas. They wind up adrift, until they land on the beach of an island that appears deserted.

Ian and Marc have to work together to make sure they survive until they’re rescued. Can they be a team? Will they be rescued? And how will they act toward each other if they are?

My Paradise is You is a sweet little book that I enjoyed very much. Every now and then, I just want to sit back, relax, and devour a story that gives me all the happy feels, and I got just what I wanted.

I liked Marc and Ian so much! Sure, Ian comes off as spoiled…well, maybe a rebel. He doesn’t want anything to do with his father’s company, and he doesn’t necessarily handle that well. He definitely needs to be taken down a peg, and Marc was the one to do that. Marc may have had a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, not a big one, but a chip nonetheless. He has no patience for rich folks, even if they’re how he makes his living.

When the boat winds up stranded, their chemistry begins to shine through. It’s a bit of a rough start, and the road isn’t always easy, but Ian and Marc finally find their rhythm and their way to each other. It took a little while, but not too long, for them to finally accept they weren’t each other’s enemy. I loved their first kiss…their first time…their first fight…their first make up. Yeah, basically, I loved everything about them. They were sweet and very sexy.

Another thing I really enjoyed about My Paradise is You was the location. Lucie Archer has an eye for detail, and I got a nice picture of what the island looked like from the foliage, to the clear spring, even the lobster traps and their shelter.  This was all very well done.

The flow of the story made perfect sense and was very smooth. I didn’t feel like anything was choppy or broken. It was all very natural, and the end was plausible and satisfying. I smiled through the whole thing. Even the angsty part was short, so I didn’t fret or fuss over it.

This was a very good book, and I highly recommend you check it out.  I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
