Darrell Anderson is a mechanic who is stuck with a Prius he doesn’t want or need. The owner brought him the car to be repaired, but never picked it up or paid his bill, so he Darrell decides to sell it and puts an ad on Craigslist.

Clay McDonald needs a car with decent gas mileage to get to and from work. He sees Darrell’s ad and sends him an email inquiry.

Hey! This is Clay. I saw your penis for sale on Craigslist. Is it still available? If so, I would like to take it for a test drive sometime tonight.

That email sets off a series of events, brings to light a few coincidences, and causes one potentially damaging misunderstanding that will determine whether Darrell and Clay have a future together, or if it will be a simple sale of a car.

I really enjoyed this book. It was clever, funny, sweet, and sexy…a short, light read that made me smile.

Both main characters are good guys, completely likable, and (in my case) crushable. I was charmed by both of them. They were hard working, friendly, and willing to go out of their way for their friends and families. They seemed lonely, though, and from the moment they set eyes on each other, the chemistry leaps off the page. Yes, they meet cute, but the cute slides into something sexy and romantic within a short period of time. That was fine, though. At 121 pages, it’s a shortish book, so things have to be that way. I never felt rushed, and I didn’t feel like M.A. Church skipped over any detail simply to get everything in.

Darrell and Clay do face a misunderstanding that might be considered insurmountable. However, Darrell’s brother and Clay’s friend convince them it may be worth taking another look because their relationship could end before it had the chance to begin. So, there is a teeny tiny bit of angst, but it’s over within a few minutes’ reading.

Texting, Autocorrect, and a Prius is a sweet love story with a bit of hot sex thrown in. It took me less than an hour to read, and in that short time, I fell in love with Darrell and Clay and went to sleep with a smile on my face. I highly recommend this one. It’s perfect for a day by the pool or at the beach. You won’t be disappointed.
