Coming Soon… 2018 Theme Week!

small_newsHi gang! I am so excited today to give you all a bit of a teaser for our 2018 Theme Week! For those of you not familiar with our Theme Weeks, each spring we do a week-oppong celebration of a particular theme or trope. All reviews and guest posts that week are centered around that theme. We also have a big giveaway, as well as doing a list of our favorite books in that theme. Past theme weeks have included Friends & Enemies to LoversMen in Uniform Week, Young Love Week, Rock Star Week, and many others. They are a big event here on the blog and always lots of fun (here is a quick link to all of our theme weeks).

This year, our theme week will be April 8-14. I know that seems like a long way away, but there is a lot of prep work that goes into the event and we need to start early gathering giveaway books, figuring out what we are reading etc. So after much discussion with the awesome folks here, our theme for 2018 will be…

Paranormal Week!

This will include all kinds of paranormal themes, including shifters, vampires, ghosts, fae, demons, witches, and more! Basically anything that falls into the supernatural realm.

So, want to get involved? Here’s how…

Readers

Do you have suggestions for books we should review for Paranormal Week? New things that are coming out in the next couple of months? Any favorites of yours that we have not already reviewed? Or anything you have been eager to hear about that you want us to check out for you? Feel free to leave suggestions in the comments, or send me an email with your ideas. We would love your input on review ideas and will incorporate as many of your suggestions as we can. If any of you all are particular fans of this theme and are interested in writing a review or a post about it, I would love to talk to you about that too!

Authors and Publishers

Do you have a book that you would like us to consider for review for Paranormal Week? Just let me know. We are particularly interested in books you may have coming out between now and then, or shortly after, so we can get a good mix of new and older books.

I am also looking for people to do guest spots on the blog that week. Specifically, people who can talk about some interesting aspect of the paranormal trope.

Giveaways

One of the hallmarks of our theme weeks are nice, big ole giveaway events. Do you have books you want to donate to our giveaway? We are open to anything that fits our theme. We are also thrilled to take prizes like gift cards, publisher store credits, or anything else fun you can think of. For our last few theme weeks, we had over 100 prizes!  It was amazing and I would love to have another fabulous giveaway again. Each prize will be featured in detail on our Giveaway post with a blurb, cover, and the name of who made the donation (see our MIU week post for an example). They get tons of traffic and are always a big hit with readers. So if you have anything you would like to donate, let me know.

  1. I’m already looking forward to Paranormal Week! Thanks so much, Jay, for organizing Theme Week; I’ve enjoyed several years worth.

  2. Annette P. says:

    Yay! my favorite theme! 🙂

  3. Oh, wow! This is amazing, Jay! I read all types of genre & I admit that I haven’t read a lot of paranormal books that I deem worthy of recommendation. Either it’s because of my tendency to be finicky with this particular sub-genre or I just haven’t found the right books for me yet. I did have read some that I really enjoyed & have fallen in love with. And one of them is something that I really would love to hear your thoughts about. It’s The Ghost of Buxton Manor by Jonathan L. Ferrara. It’s a YA paranormal book & I really hope that you guys would enjoy it. ^_^

  4. Whoo hoo!! I LOVE this sub-genre. So I am TOTALLY looking forward to it.
