pnr week 2Today I am so pleased to welcome Silvia Violet to Joyfully Jay. Silvia Violet has come to talk to us about her latest release, Law and Supernatural Order Bundle. She has also brought along…. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Thank you to Jay for allowing me to be part of Paranormal Week.

My first foray into paranormal romance was back in the mid 1990s with Linda Lael Miller’s vampire series. From there, I went on to discovered a love of shapeshifters – wolves, big cats, and others. While I’ve read and loved many paranormal series with other types of characters—witches, wizards, psychics, ghosts—shapeshifters have remained my favorite type of paranormal character.

As a writer I’ve thoroughly enjoyed creating shapeshifter characters because it’s given me an opportunity to learn more about the animals they become. My family and I are nature documentary junkies so combining writing research with documentaries about wolves or bears or horses is perfection. I think it’s important to know something about how the animals my characters change into behave. While I may not stick completely to realistic portrayals of animals, I want my characters to have at least some of the characteristics of their real-world counterparts.

I also enjoy making some my characters’ animal sides show when they are in human form. For example in Sex on the Hoof, the first book in my Law and Supernatural Order series, one of the main characters, Jason, is a deer shifter. His hair is the reddish-brown color of a deer and his eyes are large and dark brown giving him the ability to give a literal deer-in-headlights stare. When he’s angry he stomps the ground in the same way a deer would paw the ground with his hoof to signal danger.

Another character in his series, Luke, is a fox shifter. He has red hair that matches a fox’s coat. In this world, fox shifter’s are generally disliked because they are considered untrustworthy and sneaky just like actual foxes. Real foxes are solitary creatures, so Luke has always been a loner who is suspicious of relationships.

My Wild R Farm series also contains a variety of shapeshifters. Tristan is a horse shifter, and when he gets nervous or confused about something, his instinct is to run just like a horse would. He makes snuffling sounds and snorts that are reminiscent of a horse, and his blond hair translates to a golden palomino coloring in horse form.

An idea has been percolating for a new shapeshifter story. Hopefully, I’ll be able to give it some attention later this year.

My latest release is the Law and Supernatural Order Bundle which contains four m/m novellas including Sex on the Hoof and Dinner at Foxy’s.

Law and Supernatural Order

The Law and Supernatural Order Bundle contains four complete stories. Save 40% off the price of buying them individually.

Sex on the Hoof, Book 1

Deer shifter, Jason Fleetfoot, has turned his life around. After years of taking chances, he’s working as a crime lab technician, and he’s determined to forgo the risky behavior of his past. Then he meets Drew Danvers, the only undead detective in the city. Jason hates vampires, or does he? Drew defies all the stereotypes of his kind and something about him has taken hold of Jason and won’t let go. So Jason might dare to take a chance on a man others would label a risk to his health if not his very life.

Paws on Me, Book 2

When a murder investigation at a shifter nightclub brings owner Brandon Lord and Lieutenant Seth Morrison together, passion roars to life. They’re both willing to break the rules to be together. Because as mismatched as they might seem, each man is exactly what the other needs.

Dinner at Foxy’s, Book 3

Fox shifter Luke runs Foxy’s Chicken Shack, known for the best and spiciest chicken in town. For months he’s had his eye on Silas, a young cop who patrols the area around his restaurant. When Silas arrives to question Luke about his cousins’ criminal activities, things blow up, literally, and Silas is injured. Luke will do whatever it takes to see his cousins brought to justice. He might not survive his crazy plan, but if he does, there could be a chance at love for this fox shifter and his cop.

Hoofin’ it to the Altar, Book 4

Deer shifter Jason Fleetfoot and vampire detective Drew Danvers have been together for a year. When Drew proposes, Jason is thrilled but shocked—vampires aren’t usually the marrying kind, even the few who side with the good guys.

Bio

Silvia VioletSilvia Violet writes erotic romance in a variety of genres including paranormal, contemporary, and historical. She can be found haunting coffee shops looking for the darkest, strongest cup of coffee she can find. Once equipped with the needed fuel, she can happily sit for hours pounding away at her laptop. Silvia typically leaves home disguised as a suburban stay-at-home-mom, and other coffee shop patrons tend to ask her hilarious questions like “Do you write children’s books?” She loves watching the looks on their faces when they learn what she’s actually up to. When not writing, Silvia enjoys baking sinfully delicious treats, exploring new styles of cooking, and reading to her incorrigible offspring.
