Today I am so pleased to welcome Layla Reyne to Joyfully Jay. Layla has come to talk to us about her latest release, Imperial Stout (which I reviewed here and loved). She has also brought along a great tour wide giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Spinning off from Agents Irish and Whiskey, Nic and Cam are in the spotlight of the newTrouble Brewing series. For this trilogy, the titles are drawn from brew terms—Imperial Stout, Craft Brew, andNoble Hops—in a tip of the hat to Nic’s side job as co-owner of Gravity Craft Brewery. Beer, however, isn’t the only thing the characters of Trouble Brewing drink.

Cam – A Boston Irishman, Cam loves a good stout, of the imperial variety if available. And Nic has a little something special planned for his man later in the series. But beer is reserved for the end of the day, as is the bottle of Jameson on his kitchen counter. At the beginning of the day, it’s all the coffee he can drink, single-serve or iced. And his friendship with Southern-boy Jamie has given him a taste for sweet tea in the afternoon.

Nic – A twenty-year military vet and attorney, Nic is likewise all about the coffee. He’d take it via IV, if he could. And he’s not picky as to the sort. After work, at the brewery, Nic likes the stout too but his beer of choice is the pilsner, preferring a little lighter brew and an all season favorite for the no-season Bay Area. If needs something stronger, he’ll share a scotch or whiskey with his friend Aidan.

Lauren – The analyst we first met in Barrel Proof is now a full-fledged agent, taking Jamie’s vacated helm as top Cyber agent in the San Francisco field office. She’s an integral member of Cam and Nic’s team, on the case in Imperial Stout and throughout the rest of the series. Usually when we see her, she’s got a GIANT coffee in hand. The more sugary the better. After work, she’s a Maker’s Mark girl, though mentor Mel is swaying her to tequila.

Layla Reyne spins off from her pulse-pounding Agents Irish and Whiskey books with Imperial Stout, the first installment in the Trouble Brewing series

It’s a good thing assistant US attorney Dominic Price co-owns a brewery. He could use a cold one. Nic’s star witness has just been kidnapped, his joint operation with the FBI is in jeopardy, his father’s shady past is catching up with him and the hot new special agent in San Francisco is the kind of distraction best handled with a stiff drink.

Kidnap and rescue expert Cameron Byrne has his own ideas about how to handle Nic, but his skills are currently needed elsewhere. The by-the-book FBI agent goes deep undercover as a member of an infamous heist crew in order to save Nic’s witness, break up the crew and close the case before anyone else gets hurt. Nic in particular.

Things heat up when Cam falls for Nic, and the witness falls for Cam. As the crew’s suspicions grow, Cam must decide how far he’s willing to go—and how far into his own dark past he’s willing to dive—to get everyone out alive.
