Today I am so pleased to welcome J.P. Barnaby to Joyfully Jay. J.P. has come for an exclusive cover reveal of her upcoming release, Saving Hannah. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Ten years ago, I figured out that I could take the depression and anxiety that I felt and deal with it by channeling it into other people, imaginary people. Brian from the Little Boy Lost series, Aaron, Julian from A Heart for Robbie– they’re all me, my emotions, transferred into a character so I could examine them outside my own head.

Then, a few miraculous things happened.

After moving from Chicago to Atlanta, I found a doctor who finally figured out the correct prescription for my depression. It was a game changer for me. The clouds opened up and I saw the sun for the first time in a long time. In fact, even know, it still feels weird to be happy every day.

Soon after, one morning at two am, I decided it would be a awesome idea to sign up for Match.com. Come to find out, it had been a great decision and I met the man who would become my husband.

The problem? Once the depression had been dealt with and I found a happily ever after with a wonderful man – I didn’t have that emotion to channel anymore. The clouds come back sometimes, but more for a spring rain than a hurricane. So, I retired from writing to spend more time with the guy I’d fallen in love with.

Only – the voices didn’t stop talking. (And one of them was Elizabeth North from Dreamspinner Press.)

So, what happens now?

I’m really excited both about the direction my life is going, and the direction my work is going. Saving Hannah is a gateway book to the romantic suspense novels I have planned to write in 2019. I’ll still write contemporary romance and a tickle of BDSM—all with a deep-seated core of recovery. Their trauma may be different than Aaron’s or Brian’s, but no less compelling.

I can’t wait to bring you on this journey with me. For now, here is the cover for Saving Hannah, the beautiful story of the lengths a man will go for his child.

Blurb

Thomas Aberthol’s luck has run out. His daughter, Hannah, needs a miracle he can’t deliver. A hacker with a felony record, Thomas has little chance of finding work that will provide the care she needs. Out of money, out of options, and out of hope, he throws himself on the mercy of someone he never thought to see again.

Even after ten years, Aleksander Sanna still dreams of that drunken kiss. A perfect moment in time when Thomas wanted him. In his world of elegant code and high finance, the picture he holds of Thomas torments him in the dark of night.

Their worlds collide as Thomas interviews for the job he so desperately needs with the company Aleks inherited from his father. Thomas doesn’t get the position, but Aleks offers him a completely different kind of proposal, one suited to Thomas’s unique talents… one that will change the course of both their lives.

Bio

JP Barnaby is an award-winning gay romance novelist and the author of over two dozen books. Her heart and soul, the Survivor Series, has been heralded by USA Today as one of their favorites. She recently moved from Chicago to Atlanta to appease her Camaro (Jake) who didn’t like the blustery winters. JP specializes in recovery romance but slips in a few erotic or comedic stories to spice things up. When she’s not working on her latest novel, she binge watches superheroes and crime dramas on Netflix with her husband and Jack Russell Terror, Chase.

A physics geek, she likes the science side of Sci-Fi, and wants to grow up to be Reed Richards.
