Today I am so pleased to welcome Sarah Hadley Brook to Joyfully Jay. Sarah has come to talk to us about her latest release, Love in the Clouds. She has also brought along a great tour wide giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!
Hi! Thanks for having me here today. For those who don’t know me, my name is Sarah Hadley Brook and I write contemporary MM Romance. I’m here today to talk about my new release, Love in the Clouds.
One of the stories main characters, Dustin Vance, has always dreamed of earning his pilot’s license and owning his own small airplane. They’ve been on his bucket list most of his life. After finally getting his license, he takes the next step and purchases an old 1976 Cessna Skyhawk that needs a lot of TLC. His best friend, Rafael, has the summer off from teaching, so he jumps in to help and they spend their days out at the local airport, working to restore the plane to its former glory. As years of friendship begin to evolve into something more, they must decide if dating is worth the risk of possibly losing what they already have.
We all have bucket lists, whether we actually write them down or not. Personally, I have several, the first being an Alaskan Cruise. From everything I’ve seen and read about these cruises, the views are absolutely breathtaking. Traveling to Scotland is way up there on my list, too. Castles, the Highlands, the history…so much I want to see! I have quite a few ancestors from Scotland, so it would be nice to visit some of their hometowns.
I have smaller things on my list, too. For instance, I would love to take a mosaic class someday and create something beautiful like a frame or a vase—something uniquely mine. A friend of mine took a stained glass class and that sounded like a lot of fun, too.
Of course I also have the same dream of every author—to write a book that readers love. A story that resonates with people all over.
Dreams, goals, bucket lists…whatever you want to call it, they give us something to work toward. Something to look forward to that keeps us going when times are tough.
What’s on your bucket list? Drop a comment and let me know.

Rafael Patino has a great life in Rain Valley. He’s a teacher at the high school, has a great group of friends, and enjoys the occasional baseball game. Other than the sporadic call from his drunken mother, he’s pretty content.
He’s also been in love with his best friend Dustin for nearly a decade. Years of keeping those feelings under control are put to the test when they begin a summer project together.
Dustin Vance builds furniture for a living, has just earned his pilot’s license, and has an amazing best friend. When he buys a 1976 Cessna Skyhawk, he asks Rafael to help restore it, then travel with him to Wisconsin for the largest aviation convention in the world.
As they spend their days working on the plane, they begin to spend their nights together. Will they find love in the clouds, or will they stall out before they even take off?
Sarah Hadley Brook lives smack-dab in the middle of the Heartland and is the mother of two wonderful young men, as well as two cats. During the day, she works in the nonprofit world, but reserves evenings for her hobby-turned-passion of writing, letting the characters she conjures in her mind take the lead and show her where the story will go. When not working or writing, she can be found reading, working on dollhouses, trying her hand at new recipes, or watching old movies and musicals. In her ideal world, Christmas would come at least twice a year, Rock Hudson and Doris Day would have costarred in more than three movies, and chocolate would be a daily necessity. She dreams of traveling to Scotland some day and visiting the places her ancestors lived. Sarah believes in “Happily Ever After” and strives to ensure her characters find their own happiness in love and life.
