Hi everyone! Today we are starting on Week 3 of our Reading Challenge Month! Woo hoo! It is International Week, and we will be reading and reviewing books set in countries other than our own.
This week is sponsored by the folks here at Joyfully Jay. We are giving away a selection of some of our favorite international books. Don’t forget, you can enter to win this week’s prize by commenting on our challenge reviews this week or reading along with your own international book and writing a mini review on Friday (check out all the rules and details on the kick off post). If you need some help finding books, check out our Reader Favorite International Books List! We created this when we did this challenge a few years back and it includes tons of reader suggestions for books set all over the world!
Here is what we are reviewing this week for the challenge:
Monday
- Burning Fall by E.J. Smyth (Germany)
- Meet Me in Shanghai by Luca Domani (China)
Tuesday
- Latakia by J.F. Smith (Syria)
- Shoulder Season by Jackie North (Iceland)
Wednesday
- Dirty Mind by Roe Horvat (Germany)
- Would It Be Okay to Love You by Amy Tasukada (Japan)
Thursday
- On Davis Row by N.R. Walker (Australia)
- Glacier Gold by Crystel Greene (Austria)
Friday
- The Dusk Parlor by S.A. Stovall (Japan)
Be sure to check out these reviews and be sure to leave comments on the post for entries to this week’s prize. Plus read along with us with a mini review and earn even more entries! And all entries enter you to win the fabulous grand prize sponsored by Dreamspinner Press!

Looks like yet another fun week. And thanks for hosting this week, Jay.
Looks like a great week ahead, i look forward in reading all the reviews.
As for reading a book in the International Week should be not so bad for me i could almost read everything on my reader LOL because it would be more challeging to find a book that is situated in my country 😉
We’re going all over the globe again this week.
Yes! We tried to give some variety in our choices.
I like that none of the stories, either being reviewed or offered up as prizes, are from England. I have so many set there that I love, but it’s nice to spread your wings beyond. Mine this week is Australian (both the author and the setting), and I’m loving it.
Thank you! That was intentional, as so many books we read are set in the US or UK. We wanted to wander farther afield for this event.
