Today I am so pleased to welcome Joanna Chambers to Joyfully Jay. Joanna has come to talk to us about her latest release, Mr. Winterbourne’s Christmas. She has also brought along a great tour wide giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Hi, Joanna Chambers here!

I’m celebrating the release of my newest book, Mr Winterbourne’s Christmas, the sequel to my short novella, Introducing Mr. Winterbourne.

Today I want to talk about one of my favourite Regency romance tropes: the classic house party romance. A group of people gathering together in a stately home in some beautiful part of the countryside where love will bloom.

The lovers are usually surrounded by a cast other guests, some of whom will be kindly, some snobbish, and some purely comic. There will be walks and picnics and small ruins in which our lovers will have to shelter from sudden fierce storms (so much sheltering!) There will be games and music and very long dinner parties. There will be dancing and romantic moonlit encounters, and—and—HORSES! So many stamping, whickering horses! Honestly, for someone who’s barely been near a horse in my life, I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time writing about them. But then the same goes for waltzing, drinking ratafia (I know, has anyone ever tasted it?) and tying cravats.

And tearing cravats off. *coughs*

And… breeches. *stares into middle distance*

Sorry, my mind wandered a bit there.

ANYHOO, all of that is a very long-winded way of saying that my new book, Mr. Winterbourne’s Christmasis a classic Regency house party story. And, for bonus points, it’s set at Christmas, so along with the walks and dinner parties and dancing and moonlight, you get a bunch of Christmas bonus features, namely, snow storms, snow-kissing, holly-and-mistletoe-gathering, kissing-with-mistletoe etc.

Ermagerd! Christmas AND house party fun AND tearing off cravats and breeches!

I’m sorry, you’ll have to me excuse me now, I do believe I need my smelling salts…

Blurb

Lysander Winterbourne has been living happily at Edgeley Park for the last eighteen months. By day he is Adam Freeman’s estate manager, by night, his lover…but Adam never speaks of his feelings and Lysander has no idea whether their relationship is any more than a convenient arrangement for Adam.

When the two men are invited to Winterbourne Abbey for a family Christmas, matters quickly come to a head. Snowed in at the Abbey with a house full of guests, Lysander has to face up to shocking revelations, long-held secrets and a choice he never expected to have to make…

Bio

Joanna Chambers always wanted to write. She spent over 20 years staring at blank sheets of paper and despairing of ever writing a single word. In between staring at blank sheets of paper, she studied law, met her husband and had two children. Whilst nursing her first child, she rediscovered her love of romance and found her muse. Joanna lives in Scotland with her family and finds time to write by eschewing sleep and popular culture.
