Hi everyone! Well, 2018 is quickly drawing to a close and I have read so many great books this year. I’ve put together a top five list of the best of the best, and I want to share exactly why I enjoyed them so much.

The Billionaire’s Wedding/Wish by Geoffrey Knight – These are the sequels to The Billionaire’s Boyfriend that I read and reviewed in August of 2017. These books are sweet and charming with two of the most delightful MCs I’ve ever encountered. They’re funny as hell and full of heart, and they come with the perfect cast of background characters. All of these books are worth reading, and I cannot wait to see what’s next for Cal and Matthew.

An Erie Collection by V.L. Locey – This is a collection of four novellas involving Templeton, a skunk shifter, and Mikel, a wolf shifter. Sounds odd, doesn’t it? However, it just works. Their relationship is adorable, and their love overcomes homophobia and interspecies prejudice. They, along with a fantastic group of supporting characters (also supernaturals), solve mysteries that are compelling with the extra bonus of being hilarious. If you’re a shifter fans, you’ll definitely love this collection.

From the Ashes by C.M. Valencourt – I loved this touching story about two former best friends on a road trip to deposit the ashes of another dear friend. A misunderstanding separated them for years, and they slowly find their way back to each other while fulfilling their friend’s last wishes. I laughed, and I cried, and I fell in love with Derek and Hunter. I think you will too.

Speed Dating the Boss by Sue Brown – I went into this one expecting a fluffy story with some laughs and an HEA. I got so much more! There was a surprising amount of depth and emotion. It’s a slow burn love story that was sweet and sexy and utterly romantic. Daniel and Gideon have stuck with me for months. This is the first in a series, and I’m so excited to see what’s next. I very highly recommend this one.

Good Boys by Keelan Ellis – I love cop novels and Good Boys did not disappoint. It focuses on Paul Solomon, a gay cop with a penchant for drinking too much and relationships that always fail. When he’s handed a case involving the death of two young boys, he and his partner, Tim, must find the killer, and Paul must try to navigate his mess of a personal life. This is an excellent mystery full of twists and turns (and a whodunnit that came out of nowhere) and perfectly written characters. I don’t want to give anything away, but I will tell you this is one of the best books I’ve ever read…not just from 2018. Definitely pick this one up!

There you have it. My favorite stories of the year. Each one is unique and they’re all great! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend any of them. I can’t wait for 2019 and another year of reading pleasure. Happy holidays!
