Today I am so pleased to welcome Nora Phoenix to Joyfully Jay. Nora has come to talk to us about her latest release, Kissing the Teacher. She has also brought along a great giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

I don’t know about you, but I have mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day. In real life, it’s kind of overrated and commercial, and I feel like there’s a lot of pressure on either getting a date or doing something special for your significant other. In books, however, I love it. Seriously, in stories, I love all the sappy and mushy and romantic Valentine’s Day scenes. Next to Christmas books, it’s my favorite “time setting”.

It’s one of the reasons why I was excited to be a part of the Valentine’s Inc. series, a project with ten different authors and ten different books, all centering around the same dating agency called Valentine’s Inc. The stories are all different with various tropes and settings and have nothing in common but that agency…and the fact that they all take place around Valentine’s day. It’s a true feast for Valentine’s Day lovers!

My book Kissing the Teacher, the third book in the Valentine’s Inc. series, is a sexy and sweet daddy kink romance featuring Hagen, a college professor and former Dom who feels he’s getting old and boring. When Hagen’s old BSDM club organizes an event for Valentine’s Day he wants to go…but not alone. So he hires a boy through Valentine’s Inc. Imagine his surprise when that boy turns out to be his sexy student Baxter.

Sparks fly (it is a romance, after all), but things get complicated when it turns out Baxter is struggling to keep his head above water. Hagen discovers he doesn’t want to be the boy’s Dom. He wants to be his Daddy. But will Baxter accept this? And what happens when their contract is up and they have to go back to real life?

Kissing the Teacher was supposed to be a short novella, but these two guys insisted on a full-sized romance. It’s the fastest book I’ve ever written, and that was because those two made it so easy. I loved spending time with them…so much, that I may have to revisit them some time. After all, there’s never enough daddy kink, right?

Make sure you check out all the books in the Valentine’s Inc series, which will all release a few days apart until the last book comes out on February 14th. There’s a grandmother who arranges a date for her biker grandson, a straight guy who realizes he’s not so straight when he falls for his fake boyfriend, a few weddings, a guy who reconnects with his high school crush, and much more, including a whole lot of fake dates and boyfriends! Plus, all the Valentine’s Day mushy feelings, haha. They can be read in any order, since the stories have no cross over.

Blurb

Hagen didn’t want to be Baxter’s Dom. He wanted to be his Daddy.

College professor Hagen St. Croix is done with his life as a Dom since his two previous boys left him. When his former club organizes an event, he wants to go…but not alone. He finds a date-for-hire through the Valentine’s Inc. app, but he’s shocked when his date turns out to be his sexy student Baxter Lafelle, and even more shocked by the feelings Baxter evokes in him.

When tragedy strikes for Baxter, Hagen realizes that he doesn’t want to be his Dom. He wants to be his Daddy… But will Baxter let him? And what happens when their contract is up?

Kissing the Teacher is a full-sized (73k words), sexy and sweet MM romance with daddy kink, a May/December relationship, and a very happily ever after. It’s part of the Valentine’s Inc. series but can be read as a stand alone, since these books are only connected through a shared premise.

Bio

Would you like the long or the short version of my bio? The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that? A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as they have a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.
