Today I am so pleased to welcome Lynn Michaels to Joyfully Jay. Lynn has come to talk to us about her latest release, Our Own Story. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Thanks for having me on the blog to share this awesome sale. Our Own Story is 50% off at eXtasybooks for the month of January.  The story is a contemporary romance with a paranormal twist. It has coffee houses, a cabin in the woods, a ghost with a motorcycle, two loving men, and a dog. The dog was both fun and sad for me to write about. Buck is a German Shepherd in the story and was inspired by my late Shepherd-Golden Retriever mix. Especially, the rolling on a dead-fish part! Check out Our Own Story to see more of Buck, his owner Drew, and Drew’s crush, Tad. Oh, and the ghost!

Excerpt

“So, what’re we gonna do?” Tad asked. Drew had him so far out of his element, he didn’t know what to do, and he was so not used to that. He was used to being the boss.

“Tomorrow we can hit the bait store, then we can fish or swim tomorrow afternoon, or whatever you want. We can fish from the banks or take out the canoe or walk the trails…”

“Sounds good, but what are we going to do now?”

Drew shrugged. “Play cards. Drink.”

“Make out?” Where had that thought come from?

Drew shrugged again, and a light pink blush rushed over his face.

Tad stepped forward and slid his hand behind Drew’s head and pulled him down. Their lips met in a sweet, almost chaste kiss. It felt new and warm and fresh, so Tad pushed for a bit more, teasing Drew’s lips with his tongue.

Drew pulled back and smiled sweetly. “Um, I’m really tired. We should maybe get some sleep and get an early start tomorrow, huh?” He went into the bedroom and started making up the bottom bunk. He gave a short whistle, and Buck got up and dashed into the other room, leaving Tad alone and unsure of himself.

He’d come along on the trip to try this thing with Drew, to get over Bobby. He thought Drew liked him and wanted the same thing. He was pretty sure Drew had flirted with him, or tried to flirt, even when Tad hadn’t flirted back. Plus, why would he even suggest the trip if he didn’t want this? Maybe he really was tired and it wasn’t just an excuse, but it didn’t feel that way. It felt like rejection.

It didn’t matter. He needed to be an adult about it all. He grabbed his duffle and changed into an oversized t-shirt and his boxers and followed Buck into the room to crawl up on the queen bed, more tired than he thought. He would save the smooth moves for another day. He lay quietly listening to Drew’s heavy breathing and Buck’s soft chuffing and the chorus of frogs and crickets around him. The place smelled like pine and moss and long summer days.

Blurb

When Tad Conway’s ex-boyfriend, Bobby, returns after a long absence, he realizes that there are certain things in the universe he can’t explain. Like spending the night in Bobby’s arms only to learn that he’d died months before and is most likely haunting him. Oh, and that Bobby may be pushing Tad into the arms of another man.

Drew Sinclair has had a major crush on marketing guru, Tad Conway, for the longest time. After Drew’s hired as an intern in Tad’s company, he gets his chance to show his stuff—in and out of the bedroom. As Tad and Drew get to know each other better and maybe developing feelings for each other, will Tad be able to let go of his past and move on to a future with Drew?
