Today I am so pleased to welcome C.S. Poe to Joyfully Jay. C.S. Poe has come to talk to us about her upcoming release, The Mystery of the Bones. She has also brought along a great tour wide giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Hello, friends! I’m C.S. Poe, author of contemporary romances such as Joy and paranormal titles like 11:59. But most know me for my mystery writing, specifically the Snow & Winter series. And that’s what I’m here to chat about today!

The Mystery of the Bones (Book Four) has been submitted to DSP Publications. At the time of writing this blog post, we’ve begun the first round of edits and have an estimated release of late 3Q 2019. Bones was one of the more difficult titles to write, but features some twists and turns not yet seen in the ongoing adventures of Sebastian Snow and Calvin Winter that I hope readers will enjoy. And of course it includes beloved sidekicks like Sebastian’s assistant Max Ridley, and his ex-boyfriend, Neil Millett.

I must admit, I have really loved bringing Neil back from the brink of being despised to adored. At least, I hope folks come to adore him! He really does try to set things right in Bones—in the only way a human being who’s saltier than Sebastian, can. This title is, for the foreseeable future, the end of the Snow & Winter series. I do love these characters with all my heart. My career began because of a crotchety, colorblind sleuth, but for all the chaos I’ve put Sebastian through, he deserves a long, daresay boring, vacation far away from me.

For those who love teasers, I’ve provided a few little excerpts below to get you pumped for another murder mystery! If not, feel free to add Bones to your Goodreads shelf and wait until release. Lastly, if you’re new to these books, or are missing a title within, join the Rafflecopter below for a free e-copy of either The Mystery of Nevermore, The Mystery of the Curiosities, or The Mystery of the Moving Image.

“Sebastian Snow,” he answered for me.

I slowly lowered my hand. “Er—yeah.”

“You’ve got a reputation.”

“I’ve been told that before.”

“I’m sure you have.”

I got the distinct impression this cop did not find me to be a charming sonofabitch.

“Now, I know you like to play amateur sleuth, Mr. Snow,” he continued, hands on his utility belt. His accent was so Brooklyn, it was practically a stereotype.

“I’ve recently retired.”

“I don’t think you’re funny.”

“Okay.”

“And I don’t think you’re cute.”

“Good.”

“Being a cop is a serious job,” he said in a chastising tone. “And when civilians stick their noses into our business—”

“I’m pretty certain I called you folks for help,” I interrupted.

I smiled and climbed in behind him. I put my fingertips on his back and pressed against the rock-solid muscles. Flexing. Powerful. A warrior’s body. In a previous lifetime, he could have been a muse to classic Greek sculptors.

“What’re you thinking about?” Calvin asked over the water. He had his head in the stream, washing out shampoo.

“Greece.”

“Seb.”

I blinked. “What?”

“Stop,” Calvin said firmly.

“But I—”

He took a step closer. “I can see the cogs turning, baby.”

Neil paused, tilted his head back, and closed his eyes. I knew the stance because it was one thing that he and Calvin had in common: the tendency to count to ten before deciding whether to take an argument with me to the next level.

When Neil opened his eyes again, I asked, “Feel better?”

“Nice hickey,” he retaliated, and not quietly.

I put a hand to my neck. “Shut it.”
