Today I am so pleased to welcome Kay Doherty to Joyfully Jay. Kay has come to talk to us about her latest release, Hearts of Fire. She has also brought along a great tour wide giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Meet Luca Duray, Dragon Shifter

Hello! My name is Luca Duray and I’m a dragon shifter. Hearts of Fire was written about finding my mate, Tanner. A little background about me — I hatched in the winter of 1918 at a compound hidden on the western slopes of Colorado. I’m not telling you where, so don’t ask. My childhood was happy, but secluded because I didn’t like being around other hatchlings. I preferred to spend my time with old books and an even older dragon. Man, Matthias was a hardass. So strict about what I could or could not read, even when I was allowed down in the vault, which was basically never unless he was down there. To this day, Matthias is still a strict hardass, but enough about him. Until recently, I’ve been a loner and quite happy living in my big house by myself, picking up a hot piece of tail at the club whenever I wanted it, and spending my days running my business. Kay kind of glossed over that part of my life — I own a business that buys smaller sole-proprietorships and companies that I then either shut down and sell off the land, building, whatever, or I fix them up and resell them. Which brings me to my mate. Damn, he’s gorgeous. I hired Tanner as my executive assistant, but not because he knew what he was doing. Truth be told, I don’t actually give him much to do. Kay skimmed over that, as well. What can I say? My sweet boy doesn’t know the first thing about business. I hired him because I wanted him close to me all the time. Tanner was never meant to work for someone else, even me. He’s an Alpha wolf shifter meant to lead, and that’s what he’s doing. Damn pup took on a damaged pack lead by an Elemental. Suffice to say, I don’t live alone anymore. I loved my solitude. I miss my solitude. But giving up Tanner? Never going to happen. Just like Kay, I’m glossing over a lot of things because I want you to read my book…Kay’s book…about me. Whatever.

Luca Duray has been quite happy living a solitary existence for decades. But when a steel trap around his leg catches him when he’s weak and hungry, his life is irrevocably changed. He knows the wolf shifter who offers him assistance is more than he appears and immediately makes plans to keep the pup close.

Disowned by his pack for being gay, Tanner McBane is forced to become a lone wolf. While on a hunt, he stumbles upon an injured dragon shifter and provides aid. It’s not easy surviving on his own and when money gets tight, he finds himself face-to-face with the dragon shifter once again during an interview. Tanner isn’t sure a wolf should be working for a dragon, but he accepts the job and unknowingly creates a bond to his new boss. Soon, Tanner learns Luca isn’t just his boss—he’s his mate.

The mating of a wolf and dragon shifter is uncharted territory for both Luca and Tanner, but they are determined to make it work despite widespread prejudice, death threats, and the untraditional pack Tanner finds himself leading. Tanner only hopes that the bond he forms with Luca will prove to be unbreakable.

Kay lives in Colorado with her husband and their animal children. Family is important to her so there are weekly visits to her parents and frequent text messages with her brothers. She has a severe addiction to coffee and Mexican food. She loves to read and write and can easily become consumed by it for hours, much to the dismay of the husband and dogs. On occasion, she can be convinced to venture out into world of the living.
