Hi everyone! Last week we started our 5th Annual Reading Challenge Month and things have been amazing so far! If you want more details on the event itself, including specifics on how to enter for prizes, check out the kick off post.
Last week we held our first challenge, New-to-Me Author Week! And this week we start Diverse Books Week. This is one of my favorite challenge categories as I feel that reading books with diverse characters and by diverse authors is incredibly important. For this week’s challenge, there are lots of options. Some suggestions include books with racial, cultural, and religious diversity. Also, stories featuring characters with diverse physical and mental abilities. Or, books featuring characters under the wide range of LGBTQ stories, beyond just cis gay/bi men. So there are lots of options and we hope you will join the challenge and find a great book to read along with us!
Diverse Books Week is sponsored by NineStar Press. They are donating a SIX $20 NineStar Press bookstore gift cards! Woo hoo! So lots of prizes this week for readers who join in with us by commenting on challenge posts or reading along with their own challenge books and writing a mini review on Friday (check out all the rules and details on the kick off post).
Here is what we are reviewing this week for the challenge:
Monday
- Not Your Backup by C.B. Lee
- Birthday by Meredith Russo
Tuesday
- How to Be Remy Cameron by Julian Winters
Wednesday
- Golden Like Summer by Gene Gant
- In Safe Hands by Victoria Sue
- Hidden in Darkness by Alice Winters
Thursday
- Would it be Okay to Love You: Year Three by Amy Tasukada
- Power Play by J.M. Snyder
Friday
- Puzzle Me This by Eli Easton
- Coffee by Matthew J. Metzger
Be sure to check out these reviews and leave comments on the post for entries to win the gift cards from NineStar Press. Plus, read along with us and write a mini review on Friday and earn even more entries! And all entries enter you to win one of the fabulous grand prizes of overflowing book bundles sponsored by some incredible authors!
I’m attempting to read two books:
In Safe Hands by Victoria Sue
Junk Shop Blues by Cole McCade
Awesome! Look forward to hearing what you think!
Looking forward to this week! I’m planning to read Life Underwater by Matthew J. Metzger.
I love Matt’s writing. Hope you enjoy!
I have In Safe Hands by Victoria Sue and will read. I also have Enough and Tea by Matthew Metzger so will try and get one of them in – I do enjoy his writing
Awesome! I’m glad you are going us again this week!
Just realised it is In Safe Keeping I have ?
Not sure if it fits the bill, we’ll see but will definitely read some MJM.
I’m looking forward to this week and have chosen a book or two.
I’m planning on finishing my second chosen book from last week. ;DDD Hey, it’s a really long one.
And then I start Fem by Seth King. I won’t even mention my other choice for now, lest I get stuck again. lol
I think this week will be the one that adds the most books to my TBR.
I am a new Ninestar Press author and although my novel, A BLIND EYE is not romance I would like to suggest for the diverse reading category!
