When I first read Want Me last year, I absolutely adored this sexy, new adult story. It was my first book by Neve Wilder and I really didn’t know what to expect, but this one just blew me away. Wilder has created a perfect balance here of a story that is crazy hot with a ton of sex, but that also has really well developed characters and builds a great relationship. Eric and Nate start off a simply roommates getting off together and their chemistry is just undeniable. Eric can rev Nate up with just a look and the guys get up to a lot of naughty things in a wide variety of places. But even as their relationship is physical almost from the start, we see the growth of real feelings between them. I loved watching Nate figure himself out and come to accept what he wants and just go for it. If you are looking for super steamy with substance, this is a book not to miss. This time around, I listened to the book in audio with Kirt Graves narrating and I found the audiobook to be a great experience as well. As with Wilder, Graves manages to find that perfect balance between capturing the steamy hot sex scenes, while at the same time showing the vulnerability and the growing connection between Eric and Nate. Graves showcases that chemistry between the guys so nicely and the playfulness they share comes through along with the heat.
Nate and Eric’s voices were nicely distinct and I never had trouble telling who was speaking. The side characters are also well done and the narration is easy to follow. Nate’s voice felt a bit deep for me at times, but that is how it is described in the book so I think it fit and this is just a personal preference issue. But overall, I felt the performance was smooth, the characters really came through, and the audio added another layer to this already excellent story. I have loved this book in both formats and can highly recommend it.
