Today I am so pleased to welcome Alice Winters to Joyfully Jay. Alice has come to talk to us about two of her books, Of Secrets and Wolves, and Hitman’s Guide to Tying the Knot Without Getting Shot. She has also brought along books to give away! Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Thank you so much for having me! I’m here to talk about my two most recent releases. The first is the audiobook of The Hitman’s Guide to Tying the Knot Without Getting Shot (narrated by the amazing Michael Ferraiuolo) and the second is the first book in my brand-new shifter series called Of Secrets and Wolves.

If you haven’t checked out my Hitman’s Guide series, it’s a whirlwind of comedy, action, and romance. We have Leland, a hitman who is trying his hand at a normal life after falling in love with a PI. “Normal” life has never been Leland’s strong suit, so wherever he goes, chaos seems to follow and book three is no different. When Jackson, Leland’s fiancé, becomes a target, the two suddenly find themselves thrown danger while trying to sort out truth from lies.

What I love about this series is that Leland is such a unique character. He is the definition of fun chaos. He’s the kind of character where you can throw him into any situation, and he will find a way to twist it around to something action-packed and comedy-filled. His love for Jackson shows through while he does everything he can to protect Jackson (even if it means threatening to banish him to a guarded tower or putting him in a full-body bulletproof outfit which Jackson is not okay with… it might actually try to kill him). My second recent release, Of Secrets and Wolves, is a shifter book about a tracker who gets hired to find two escaped convicts. Along the way he runs into Quinn, the nearby alpha who decides to help him. What they find is unlike anything they ever imagined and the two are pushed together as Rowan tries to work through his preconceived notions that shifters are something to stay distant from. But there’s a pull that Rowan feels for Quinn that he can’t deny as they work together.

The second book is finished and will be on Amazon in March, but book one is available now! What’s fun about writing this series is that it’s very plot based with lots of action. While it’s not as comedic as some of my others, there are still moments of humor along the way. The romance between Quinn and Rowan builds as they try to sort through the bond they have that neither seems to understand, especially Rowan, who is unaccustomed to shifters. You can check out the first book here: http://mybook.to/OfSecretsandWolves. If you’ve already read the first in the series, you can grab a free short story about a fun side character in my reader group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/AliceWinters

hitman's guide to tying the knot audio coverLeland
Is a nice little wedding with Blow-up Randy and Jackson My Love too much to ask for? Clearly, because someone’s trying to kill one of us… again. Generally, this would be my thing and I would jump right in singing my murder song, but they want Jackson dead and I will do anything (and I mean anything) to keep him alive—including and not limited to: ten Dobermans, bulletproof glass, and dragging Cassel in with the promise of more Jerebear. These people have no idea what they’ve done targeting the man I love because I’m coming after them. But when it feels like everything might be lost, I start to understand that I have a family now who will stand by my side and do everything they can to make sure we end this on our terms.

Jackson
When someone attacks me, it’s clear they want something from me. The issue is that I have no idea who they are or what they’re after. And if I don’t figure it out soon, I’m afraid Leland is going to smother me with his overprotectiveness (or put me in a bubble at the top of a tower). The issue is that time is ticking and with the price tag on my head, there’s no telling who is coming for me or when. Together, Leland and I have to decipher who is telling the truth in this game of life or death because I have plans to marry the man of my dreams and no one is going to stop me—especially with Leland by my side.

This 100k word book contains humor, action, romance, bad behavior on a golf course, sort of abducting a child who lacks kung fu power, enough car chases and shooting to make even Leland happy, and spontaneous singing.

of secrets and wolves coverRowan
My whole life, I’ve been taught to despise shifters. So when I’m hired to track two escaped convicts, I’m suddenly thrust into the world I hate—or thought I did. Yet I’m inexplicably drawn to the alpha of the pack whose land the convicts may be hiding on. He’s different than any shifter I’ve ever met—laid back and quick to laugh, caring and protective, and makes me feel complete for the first time in my life. As secrets are revealed, I start to wonder if everything I’ve been raised to believe was a lie, though it may not matter because it seems like someone wants us dead.

Quinn
I’m no stranger to prejudice from humans, but it’s different when Rowan comes into my life. Though I shouldn’t let myself be distracted, I’m captivated by him. At first, he’s stiff, fighting to keep his misconstrued beliefs intact, but as I break down the wall he’s created, I’m able to show him a place among the fun chaos of my pack. After one of my pack goes missing, it leaves Rowan and me racing to bring them home, but the only way we’re going to survive this is if Rowan learns to accept the bond that’s growing between us—a bond that could give us the strength to put aside our reservations and give in to what both of us want.

Of Secrets and Wolves is an action-filled romance with a dash of comedy. It’s the first book in a series with a continuing storyline and an HFN.
