Today I am so pleased to welcome Kris T. Bethke to Joyfully Jay. Kris has come to talk to us about her release, Accepting Submission, and upcoming holiday story, Yule Be Naughty. She has also brought along a book to give away. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Hey y’all! Thanks to Jay for letting me hijack the blog this morning.

The holiday season is rolling around again, and this year for my holiday story, I’m revisiting a favorite couple. Trey and Asher from Accepting Submission want to share an update about how they’ve been doing. But though things are going well, that doesn’t mean they haven’t hit bumps along the way.

And they’ve hit one of those bumps as Yule approaches. Asher knows he has to find a way to get his mate, and Dom’s, attention. Since asking didn’t work, he’ll have to resort to something else.

Yule Be Naughty is out in December, but in the meantime, see how Asher and Trey got their start. Accepting Submission has shifters, mates, and D/s with spanking and power exchange. If you haven’t yet gotten a chance to read it, now’s the time. Before their coda is out in the world

Get it here:

“Come on. Let me see those pretty brown eyes.” Trey’s soft voice washed over me and brought me back from…wherever the hell I’d been. I cracked my lids apart. It took me a second or two to focus, and there was Trey’s smiling face. “There you are.”

“Hi,” I rasped. My throat felt shredded. I knew I’d screamed, and that probably hadn’t done my throat any favors. Especially not after having Trey’s big cock down it.

Trey’s smile widened, but I was struck by the affection in his gaze. He lifted a warm, wet cloth to my face and spent several minutes cleaning my beard. Then he gave a small chuckle

“That’s the best I can do for now. When you’re up to it, we’ll get in the shower and clean up properly.” He tossed the cloth toward the corner of the room, then sat on the edge of he bed. His hip touched mine, and I shuddered at the contact. Then he braced his arm on the other side of me and leaned closer. “How are you feeling?”

I took stock. I was sore, especially in my jaw, fingers, and shoulders. But otherwise, I felt, “Good.”

“Just good?”

“Uh. Fantastic?”

Trey laughed. “Well, I’m glad. But that’s not what I meant.”

Oh. My brain was operating at a slower than normal rate, so it took me a moment to catch on. “Um. Yeah. Good. A little weird? Not the right word but…” I trailed off because my throat hurt.

Trey seemed to know why I’d stopped, because he handed me a bottle of water. My arms shook when I tried to push myself up, and Trey helped me into a sitting position. I drank a few sips, and the water felt so good and refreshing, I downed half the bottle.

“Easy there.” Trey laid a hand over mine, and I slowed down. After a few seconds, I lowered the bottle.

I nodded.

“Good.” Trey brushed a lock of hair off my forehead. I couldn’t stop staring at him and the softness in his eyes. “Now, weird how?”

Did he really have to push it? I almost refused to answer, mostly because I wasn’t sure what I should say. But even as the thought swirled in my brain, Trey lifted a brow. And I knew that yes, he was going to push and yes, I would have to answer.

“Like, I don’t know.” My voice was barely above a whisper. “There’s still a part of me that says I shouldn’t have done that. That I was weak for giving in.”

“You know that’s bullshit, right? I told you, it takes a strong person to admit what he needs. An even stronger person to hand the reins over to someone else.” Trey’s voice stayed soft and calm, but there was an edge of steel underneath that did not invite argument. And truthfully, I didn’t want to argue.

“Yes, sir.”

Trey grinned, and it was a little bit wicked. “I’ve never seen a sub, especially a new sub, fall into subspace that fast. You’ve been needing for a long time, haven’t you, cub?”

Alphas aren’t made to submit.

Raised in a conservative clan, Asher Grant has done everything he could to be a good alpha. A good son. But denying his needs has made him weak, and he’s lost touch with his bear. No longer able to shift, his clan rejects him instead of helping. Desperate, there’s only one place Asher can turn.

Trey Carver leads his pack with a firm but gentle hand. Under his guidance, his wolves have flourished. Asher knows he won’t be welcome among the wolves, but Trey has something he needs. Asking for it isn’t easy. Accepting it when it’s offered is even harder.

As Trey teaches Asher the beauty of dominance and submission, Asher begins to heal. Accepting his true self has a power all its own. When Trey makes the ultimate offer, Asher feels honor bound to deny it. Can a wolf convince a bear that they are meant to be?
