Today I am so pleased to welcome Kris T. Bethke to Joyfully Jay. Kris has come today to talk to us about her latest release, Yule Be Naughty. She has also brought along a great giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Hey y’all! Thanks to Jay for letting me hijack the blog this morning, and thanks to you for stopping in.

Asher and Trey are back for a holiday coda in Yule Be Naughty which is out today!

The thing about these two guys is that they’re settled and happy. Mated and in a committed and fulfilling D/s relationship. But as the holidays roll around, Trey is pulled in too many directions and even when Asher asks, he fails to get the attention he needs. What’s a sub to do? Act out of character, brat up, and hope his Dom can set things right again, that’s what.

I had a blast revisiting this pair. I enjoyed writing them the first time around, and it was so much fun to get back inside their heads and see what they’ve been up to. It was kind of like having a conversation with a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while.

You can read their beginning in Accepting Submission and then pick this up to see how their relationship is going. They’ve hit a bump, for sure, but it won’t break them. Because, as always, I can guarantee a happy ending.

Pick up Yule Be Naughty today. You can get it here.

Excerpt

“You have to breathe for me, baby.”

“See!” I all but wailed, panic stealing my breath. “You aren’t even calling me ‘cub’ anymore. What did I do wrong?”

“No!” Trey’s shout startled me, which caused me to suck in a breath, and made me realize how close I was to passing out from lack of oxygen. It took me a minute to get my lungs to work again, and suddenly Trey was right in my face. I could smell him all around me, that curious mix of fur and citrus that was so uniquely him, and it helped calm me. I wanted to still be upset, but it was impossible.

“Breathe,” Trey’s voice commanded, and so I did. “That’s right. That’s my good cub. Breathe nice and slow.”

After a few minutes, I was calmer and breathing nearly normally. Trey seemed satisfied with that, because he sat back. Not really putting distance between us, but changing the angle. He shuffled us around until he was sitting against the back of the couch and I was sideways facing him.

“First things first, I owe you an apology.” Trey spoke in a low and gentle voice, and it settled me further. “Though it was in no way intentional, you’re right. I haven’t been giving you the attention you deserve and desire. I’ve failed you here. You’ve done nothing wrong.”

“I broke the rules,” I mumbled. “All of them.”

“You did. I could smell it as soon as I walked in the door.”

“It didn’t make me feel good. I don’t like breaking rules.”

“I know, cub. And that right there should have tipped me off and made me worry. Instead, I was just disappointed. But you were trying to get my attention. Something was very wrong between us, I wasn’t listening, and you had no other choice.”

“That’s what it felt like.” Being heard now and understood went a long way in soothing my ragged soul. But there was still an edge of wariness creeping under my skin, demanding I didn’t just accept what he was saying. It made my stomach knot again, and I wrapped my arms around my midsection, trying to ease the tension there.

“I know. And I’m truly sorry that it became necessary. I’m sorry that I let my other obligations get in the way of us. There’s no excuse for that. Absolutely none. It was unacceptable behavior on my part, and I can only hope you’ll forgive me and give me a second chance.”

I jerked up my gaze to meet his, because the way he said it made it sound like I was walking out the door. Which had never been my intention. It had never even crossed my mind. But his amber eyes were filled with sadness and remorse.

“You’d have every right to walk away, Asher. You placed a great deal of trust in me, and I’ve broken that. It would be understandable if you didn’t want to be here with me, have me as your Dom, anymore.”

Blurb

Sequel to Accepting Submission

Asher and Trey have enjoyed two years of mated bliss. It’s still not easy for Asher to ask for what he needs, but he’s accepted his submissive nature and trusts Trey to dominate him. But with the growing pack and the holidays approaching, Asher finds himself losing touch with his Dom.

In a desperate attempt to gain his mates attention, Asher acts out of character and breaks the rules. He knows it’s the fastest way to get Trey to focus on him. Asher doesn’t want to be selfish, but he knows that their dynamic is important to them both. Being naughty works like a charm. Can these two men finally have the conversation they need to have? And will it be enough to save their love?
