Today I am so pleased to welcome Edie Montreux to Joyfully Jay. Edie has come to share the cover for her upcoming release, Stone of Power: Farbonnur Elves Book 1. She has also brought along a great giveaway. Please join me in giving her a big welcome!

Hi Jay and everyone! Thank you so much for allowing me to show off this breathtaking Natasha Snow cover for Stone of Power, the first of six in the Farbonnur Elves series! The elf on the cover is Faraki, the main character’s sidekick. It’s cold and snowy in Dovington, the capital city of Farbonnur, during the Yule festival week when this story takes place.

This is the final of my previously published, rewritten, and republished books. It took far longer than the others (Spread Your Wings and Pika Perfect). I changed the timeline so that our series main characters, Velden and Faraki, are exiled a century before the events of this story. Originally, the attacks on the three elven strongholds took place on the same night. With the timeline adjustment, Velden is the catalyst for the events in Dovington, and a century later (book 2, Circles of Light), he’ll use what he’s learned when his true bond needs his help.

Now for my favorite part – the giveaway! Here are four fantasy/romance tropes you will either love or hate about Farbonnur Elves:

  1. Prophecy (but it keeps changing because their goddess is a fickle bitch). The goddess of dreams has a new prophecy at the beginning of Stone of Power. If it doesn’t come to pass, neither will the original prophecy for which she exiled Velden and Faraki.
  2. The king’s advisor is an evil blood mage. This is not a secret – it’s in the prologue. The religion is a cult of blood mages who have turned the humans against the elves to make it easier to prey upon the elves’ magical blood. Humans have magic, too, but it’s harder to control and it’s just easier to drink it than it is to learn all those difficult spells.
  3. The king’s former physician and his new physician hate each other (until they don’t). This started as an enemies-to-lovers novella, and that trope is still going strong here. Julian, the former physician, can’t remember a lick of magic, but he’s certain he did a better job than Eldrich is doing now.
  4. Fated Mates (one for the king, one that doesn’t want to be found, and one that’s not born yet). This may seem a little out-of-place outside of a paranormal shifter world, but it’s integral to this story. True bonds are vital to the elves’ success against the blood demon. Unfortunately, they’re all fighting against that fate because dreams from their goddess can’t be trusted.

For the $10 amazon gift card giveaway, tell me about your favorite fantasy and romance tropes! I’ll probably hit on at least one (if not all) in this six-book series!

Blurb

For over a century, exiled elves Velden and Faraki have sought to return home. Now, they may have a chance. If they can protect a healing stone from greedy blood mages, their goddess may grant their wish. Unfortunately, the humans have never been that cooperative. With missing memories, a dying king, and a pair of physicians who can’t decide whether they love or hate each other, the elves have their hands full. If they fail, it will be the end of days for everyone.

Stone of Power is an M/M romantic fantasy with an Enemies to Lovers M/M Romance sub-plot. This book has a fickle goddess, a trickster who has lost his magic, an uptight physician who does everything by the book, and elves waiting for their fated mates. Come for the enemies-to-lovers HEA; stay for the elves!

The humans’ story was previously published as a 35k novella, The King’s Physician.
