Warmth spread through him. Oliver had stopped believing in himself. But Nico believed in him. With a low groan, Oliver pulled Nico to him to hug him close. And Nico was giving him a strong, grateful hug in return.

They were holding each other in forgiveness, friendship, and then…

It was no longer about friendship at all.

They lunged at each other. Oliver gave in to everything he’d wanted since Nico had walked through his front door and into his life.

Their mouths collided, devouring each other, desperate for contact. They gorged on each other’s lips. Oliver’s pulse raced, his heart banged at his rib cage like it might burst free, and Oliver lost himself in the kiss. Or maybe he found himself; he didn’t know which was right. Didn’t care. A violent tremor surged through him as they stumbled against the wall, kissing harder. Every touch of Nico’s lips ravenous. Every touch. Nico grabbed the back of his neck, pulling at Oliver’s hair. His other arm wrapped at Oliver’s waist. His chest heaved as they clung to each other, needy for the taste of tongue and lips. Oliver’s fingers dug into Nico’s shoulders. Moaning from the pure electricity of the kiss. Jesus, Nico could kiss. Oliver’s head spun, his body thrumming for more. He wanted to clutch Nico tighter, absorb everything he had to give and still take more. He couldn’t imagine wanting anybody else like this. And Oliver began to unbutton Nico’s shirt, feel the warm skin, feel his heartbeat, fumbling slightly because he wouldn’t stop kissing Nico. He wouldn’t break the connection of their hot mouths.

Breathing heavily, Oliver ran his hands all over Nico, responding to every sexy sound as he teased Nico’s mouth, thrusting his tongue deeper. He ground himself at Nico’s hip.

“Is this happening?” Nico pulled away, his voice filled with wonder.

“I don’t know,” Oliver replied, still panting. “I want it to.”

“So do I,” Nico said, his voice strangled, his eyes brimming with tears. Oliver brushed one away with his thumb.

Nico leaned in, his mouth lifted in hope, a sweetness shining in his eyes. Wanting nothing more than that sweetness, Oliver kissed him. Again. Slower, this time.

“I’m so sorry I hurt you,” Nico whispered in his ear.

Oliver held him tight. “It would hurt more if you’d never returned.”
